They disappear completely but also quickly. Not so quickly you can't get the fabric in the machine before it disappears but you won't be able to draw out some elaborate, large design and think it'll stay visible in the time it takes to stitch.
Finding these disappearing ink markers was a life-saver!! I use them on 100% acrylic yarn, and the ink goes on very vibrantly and fades to just-visible within a few minutes (which works fine for my purpose). By the time I've attached my piece, I usually can't see any marks at all, but they wipe away easily with a damp cloth. I highly recommend them!
