The FREQUENCY RESPONSE is even and flat, with no extreme exaggerations through low to mid to high ranges. Instead of thumpy bass you get tight, fast bass with little slop and rumble. Instead of shrill treble you get airy, smooth, non-fatiguing highs. And especially the midrange is not left behind almost entirely like many in-ear buds, but delivers vocals in line with the rest of the spectrum, with detail and emotion.
The SOUNDSTAGE is lush, exciting, immediately noticeable as very expansive, with amazing IMAGING from front to back and side to side. Truly immersive soundstage for a earbud, even rivaling some headphones. You hear instruments exactly in their place in the mix.
The sound is full of DETAIL and resolving, yet the perfect blend of analytical and musical. Notes are very clear and precise, yet flow well together with an organic quality, which truly makes general music listening a pleasure. There is slight warmth in the lower registers, but not enough to ever muddy, with very clean mids and highs to balance out the warmer sonics for great detail retrieval.
The P1 is probably my most comfortable earphone. It fits my ear perfectly, making me able to listen and ENJOY music for hours. This is where every earbud can never suit every ear anatomy, but for a universal it does a great job. You can also wear the wire over the ear (stays better in your ear) or hanging down. Many higher-priced IEMs are only designed to wear the wire over the ear and include memory wire to form around the top of the pinna. For me, i generally like to just put them in and go, and if i need to take them out in a hurry, or adjust, it is never a problem. With the many included tips, from silicone to foam (Comply), you should be able to find the perfect fit for a good comfortable seal (essential to any IEM).
The earbud housing itself is solid metal. It seems very durable and substantial. It may be a bit heavy, especially with the included cable, but is well-formed and comfortable. One note that i do not like about metal earbuds is that they can get quite cold in the winter though, if you are wearing them outside.
One possible negative for the P1 is the SENSITIVITY. They can require more power than the average earbud to play at their best. I havent found this to be a particular problem with my smartphone (Samsung Note3), as its op-amp sounds good and I use the PowerAmp app as my player. You can adjust the gain on this app's amp for more sound boost, increase the EQ levels, etc. Speaking of EQ, the Pinnacle is the ONLY earbud i have used that I do not need to adjust a curve to make the FR suit my desire for a clean, flat sound. I have boosted the EQ levels equally to give a bit more overall loudness to make up for the lack of sensitivity. If you use an external quality headphone amp, as i do sometimes, you do not need to worry at all about the lower sensitivity, and generally with most modern smartphones or DAPs, increasing the volume past your "normal" range works fine.
The P1 truly is a top contender in universal earbuds. It has great sound and is very comfortable to wear for long periods. It seems very well-made and should last for many years, especially with interchangeable cables should you break one or develop a bad connection with a jack. Truly the Pinnacle--for the price range--for an audiophile-quality in-ear monitor.
For a universal in-ear monitor, these are among the best-sounding i've heard. I think they are truly remarkable for their price range. The entire package is presented well, with two nice sets of connector cables. The bud uses the MMCX connector on each earbud, which can be replaced with other cables if needed. Although the included cables are great, i am using a lighter one that also has a volume control along with track button, something i wish the included cable had.
First of all I want to say that I’m not an audio engineer nor anything like that, I just greatly appreciate high fidelity in-ear audio. I am not one to spend a thousand dollars on in-ear audio. I’m definitely not into over-powering bass, I like bass, but not to the point where it floods over the mids and tweets. My taste in music is wide ranges from John Williams’ Star Wars The Force Awakens to Seether’s One Cold Night to Skrillex’s Recess. I’m just not a fan of country.
What I can compare to: I’ve owned Skullcandy Aviators, Shure SE215, MEE Audio M-Duo, Knowles balanced armature driver in-ear monitors, and various other audio devices throughout my past. So, whenever I’ve shopped for “earphones”, I have always gone for fidelity. When I bought these Pinnacle P1’s I just took a leap of faith that I will be happy with the audio quality despite being $200. With all things equal as my sound source, which I’ll detail later, I can honestly state that the P1’s, without a doubt sound way better than what I’ve owned before.
Writing this review, I am comparing three different ear audio devices: MEE Audio Pinnacle P1, MEE Audio M-Duo, and Knowles balanced armature driver IEM’s. My music source is Seether’s One Cold Night concert. I bought the M-Duo’s about a year ago on sale for a good price so that’s when I discovered MEE Audio. I received the Knowles’ IEM’s from a friend because I was researching balanced armature drivers. Then, of course, I “bit the bullet” and bought the Pinnacle P1’s.
M-Duo’s: I liked the idea of separate drivers for the different frequencies and the price was right. They work ok, but the mid-range is a little muddled for myself.
Knowles balanced armature drivers (B-A-D) IEM’s: I love the idea of the B-A-D IEM’s, but they don’t produce any lower frequencies. The higher frequencies are incredibly clear though, so I was searching for hybrid audio devices when I found the P1’s. Another advantage that the B-A-D’s have is they don’t require too much power to drive them vs. the equivalent dynamic drivers. If you turn the audio up for music on dynamic drivers then switch them for B-A-D IEM’s they will blow your eardrums out.
Pinnacle P1’s: first thing I want to rave about is the amount of soundstage these have is very impressive. They have an eternity of separation between the frequency ranges. The snare drums, the lead guitar, the symbols, the bass guitar, and vocals all complement each other very well. The audio sounds true, if that makes sense.
The packaging that the P1’s come in is pretty good. It comes with a felt-lined leather carrying case with a metal label with the serial number engraved on it. It also has several ear bud styles and two heavy cords, one with a mic and the other without it. They are braided which I actually love because on the lessor expensive cables, they all get wrapped or folded and have terrible memory whereas these braided cables really don’t.
The in-ear headphones, as they call them, have a die-cast zinc alloy case that appear attractive, but the minor downside is the zinc alloy makes them heavier than all other IEM’s that I’ve used. They fit in my ears well and don’t ever feel like they’ll fall out.
Overall, I am very, very pleased with the Pinnacle P1’s. I don’t regret shelling out $200 for these in-ear headphones and because of the die-cast zinc alloy and braided cables, I think they will last a long time. That being said, the longer I have them, the better spent $200.
Again, I haven’t owned, or even tried high end in-ear monitors, so I cannot compare the P1’s with $2000 dollar audio devices, but for the price I paid for these P1’s, I will have many pleasant hours of clear music enjoyment…
Support was terrible. They took 1 week to process my RMA. They use only intern slow ltter. I've been waiting for one month !!!!!
Top reviews from other countries
I'm listening straight from my Galaxy S8 and they get very loud, so an amp is not needed. Overall, the sound signature is very flat, with a slight bump in the lower-mid treble. Personally, I listen with an EQ to reduce the treble and I think it sounds perfect. They won't have as much bass as more popular headphones, but it's perfect for me and you can always EQ the bass if you don't like it. But what's awesome is that there are no spikes or dips in the frequency that I can hear. So the treble never becomes piercing or sibilant unless the music was recorded that way. The midrange isn't recessed, so vocals are full and lush. But what really impressed me with the sound is how detailed everything is, and this is true across the frequency range. Drums, vocals, guitars, hi-hats - pretty much everything is so lifelike and realistic because of how accurate and detailed the IEMs are. In fact, it's a bit hard to listen to a song with lesser headphones once you hear how natural and smooth it sounds on the P1! Instrument separation is also great, and I can hear things in songs I've never heard before. The sound is absolutely amazing. The only drawback is that since they're IEMs, they don't have a large soundstage that headphones do.
The P1 excels in build quality too. The earbuds have a metal housing, which looks very durable. However, it does take a while to get used to putting metal earbuds in your ear. The cables are detachable, which is a must at this price point. The cables are braided; not sure if that adds to the durability, but they do look like they can take a beating. There's a leather carrying case that comes in the box, which is nice.
The only one complaint I have with the P1 is that they have a lot of cable noise. You need to make sure you're completely still while wearing them, or otherwise you'll hear a lot of microphonic noise. Overall, they're a great buy and I highly recommend them! They may be pricy, but they're definitely worth it if you listen to music as much as I do.
I had no idea about pinnacle p1 other than great reviews I have read all over internet. Finally I decided to give it a try. What could possibly go wrong? If I don't like the sound I can easily replace it. Thanks to Amazon return policy.
Package arrived in great condition. As soon as I took out the pinnacle box I was stunned. Such a good and thoughtful package. It feel so premium. Opening the box was an experience. Took out the iems and damn it has that heft to it with beautiful hand polished finish. 2 cables are included with the package. One for use with Phone which includes mic and a button. The other is silver plated copper cable, which is of very good quality. Lot of ear tips are provided as well, which includes 3 pairs of comply foams.
Ok, let's get down into the business...the sound quality:
First I tried the medium silicon tips as they fit my ear comfortably. Connected it to my chord mojo and fired up my fav songs. Wowwww that sounds great.....never heard such a soundstage in an iem. It was almost like an open back headphone. But treble seems to be a bit elevated and I am sensitive to treble. So I put on the comply foam eartips which are supposed to tame the treble and make the sound a bit warm. Baamm...I was blown away by the sound. Damn how could this be even possible??? I wondered while going through my music collection which includes low bitrate MP3 to lossless FLAC and wav files. The sound is neutral.
Bass is excellent tight and fast. Not boomy mess. Bassheads will be disappointed..i guess. But i would say this is the best bass. Well textured and certainly have that sub bass impact, without exaggerating.
Mids are heavenly, guitars sounds awesome. Try Sultans of Swing, John Mayer's Vultures live. You will be blown away by the riffs.
Vocals sounds great as well.
Treble is very good and well extended. God that cymbals crashes...never heard it so clearly before.
The best part- Soundstage and imaging. one word - Addictive. Yeah really addictive. 3D soundstage which resembles a big hall, with sounds floating around your heads. You need to hear it to believe it. I heard songs continuosly for 4 hrs straight just to hear that soundstage and imaging in all my fav songs. I bet you will be addicted too. I wonder how they tune it so well to achieve this level of imaging with one dynamic driver. Hats off to people at mee audio.
None of the iems i had before hooked me to music like pinnacle do.
Fiio fh5 have lot of bass. Separation is good as well. But soundstage is not open like pinnacle and sounds congested at times. Fh5 has kind of dark signature. BGVP is good but i prefer the sound of pinnacle.
Comfort is really good. I have medium size ears and never had any discomfort wearing this.
Let's conclude, this is the best iem in 199 dollars price range. Yeah indian price is on the higher side. But the sound quality make up for it. I would suggest people to try pinnacle first before going to FH5 or DM6 or Fidue a83. You will like it.
Cons: Price. Yeah these are costly iems. US price is much less. Wish Indian price is comparable to US.
These are very hard to drive iems (50 ohm impedance and sensitivity is low). Mobile phones wont be able to drive it to full potential. I tried with my Oneplus 6T and found audio to be lifeless and weak. If you are planning to buy these, make sure you have a decent headphone amp. Drgaonfly RED, MOJO etc. will be good. With DAC and headphone amp, this iem sounds phenomenal.
Thanks for reading.
Verarbeitung & Design
=====================
Tragekomfort
============
Klang
=====
Fazit
=====

NO a tutti i telefoni di fascia bassa/media, tranne alcuni lg come sopra specificato, NO a lettori musicali di media qualità e senza amplificatore.
