I wore my first hat every day while walking my dogs, I lost it at a pool, and bought a replacement. The new hat had no extra threads, etc., and was perfect. I also bought one for my sister. I've bought three in total and would definitely recommend this hat. I changed my rating from a 4 to a 5 star.

PREVIOUS REVIEW:
I do like this hat, but it had two defects. There was a bundle of tan thread mixed in with my black hat, and then there was a section of another hat sewn onto the brim of my hat. I can easily remove these but it seems like quality control is not a priority. The brim is easily shapable and I did not have harsh fold lines. I wore it immediately to walk my dogs outside during a hot day while trying to stay in the shade. It definitely kept the sun out of my face and chest and kept me much cooler than without a hat. I wear a medium size helmet and it fits well.

It is exactly what I expected. It does arrive folded up (how could it not? It is a giant hat!) but I had no problem shaping it (the wire in the edge of the brim) in order to try it on. I folded it back up to pack for a trip out of the country and it packs very well. I was worried about ordering this and packing it in a suitcase but it is very sturdy. It is not straw that would crack and break but more of a flexible and sturdy woven hat. The brim is quite large, which is exactly what I wanted, but not floppy, due to the wire in the edge. You can shape it so that it doesn't obscure your vision.The main part itself fit my head just fine. Very nice, can't wait to relax on the beach with it. If I have issues during or after my trip with it I will update my review, but I don't foresee any problems.

Nice hat. The only thing I didn't like was trying to shape it. It comes folded which leaves creases in the top portion of the hat. I'm having a hard time smoothing them out. I haven't tried a garment steamer yet which might take care of this issue.

Except for the fact the hat was a little on the large side, it was perfect for what I was looking. It was a little wrinkled from the shipping but I ironed it using a wet cloth and the wrinkles came right out. Also, it has a wire edge which was very helpful in shaping the hat! Overall, I was very pleased with the hat!

Awful looking, I got beige and it looks like something people wear gardening. The brim is not as wide as seems online, it's the right width just to give you a very peasant look. If you have thick hair or don't have junior size head, don't get it. It was wrinkled right out of the package and so small that I had to force my head in. Just ugly. If I didn't have to use it for sun protection purposes in two days I would definitely return it right away. Just don't buy. I had bought the same type of hat before with wider brim and it looked beautiful, which looked just like this one looks in picture, but the actual brim on this one is just a tad short and looks bad, very bad. Update: I was packing today and found this hole, it's obviously not a rip. Bad craftsmanship.
