This was a nice, simple story to me. It left out timelines and ages, so it was sort of difficult to know how long she had been married and how long he had been out of the service and on the mountain. It was funny, sad, and heartwarming. I would've liked more ending, but the ending was good, just too short for me.

This book captured my interest from the beginning and though it is written by two different authors it reads smoothly and you would never know!

Madison Atwood is a recent divorcee and her business is spread all over the tabloids, as her husband is a famous Hollywood actor. She is devastated and ashamed and she decides to leave and go to Avalon Springs in Northern California to escape all the madness and find a way to heal her broken heart. Madison is beautiful but she does not see herself that way, only as not being good enough to keep her husband's interest.

Luke Dawson owns the property that Madison is staying at. Luke is a recluse, he finds he can't deal with society any more. He is an ex Seal who saw more horrible things than he could not ever forget so he lives in a rugged cabin up on the hill away from the hot springs and barely goes to town either.

Madison wanders on the property the first day and winds up at the hot springs and decides to go in not realizing that Luke is watching her. What he sees is seared on his brain forever!

The next day Meredith goes back to the springs and sees Luke's cabin up on the hill and decides to go up there. What follows is a "meet and greet" of the sexy persuasion! After Luke goes to cut wood, she steals out of the cabin to go home, embarrassed at her own behavior. However fate steps in and after twisting her ankle, she is in no shape to go anywhere! Luke brings her back to cabin as there is going to be a bad snow storm.

They both get along well, however Luke does not know how he can keep a city girl in a place like he needs to live to survive. On the other hand Meredith feels so safe around Luke she does not want to leave.

Can a city girl and a rugged 6"7" ex Navy Seal find any common ground? Read this book and find out. It has everything, it made me laugh, cry, get frustrated on occasion with the characters and there is great chemistry between the two of them.

I gave this book 5*****stars and can't wait to read more by these authors!

I've read everything Meredith Wild has ever written, and loved every word until this book. It wasn't deep, the plot was predictable, characters poorly developed, and it ends with a puppy?

The city girl gets divorced, runs to mountains, gets naked in the first stream she finds, is masturbating, and a mountian man is watching her. The next day, city girl climbs the mountian again, walks right into mountian mans cabin while he's jacking off and says, "I want you" and they partake in a less than well written sex scene.

City girl runs away after, sprains her ankle, mountian man reduces her but they get snowed in to his cabin after the rescue and immediately profess their love for each other. He has PTSD from being a Seal and cant live in the city, and she can't live without running water forever, so they compromise and he builds her a house and hour from the city where they live happily ever after with the new puppy he buys her.

Oh and somewhere in the middle city girls exmother in law is going to die and summons her to the hospital to tell city girl never to go back to her son. That was the only unpredictable curve ball in the whole story. And I'm still not even sure how that fit in with the plot.

I expect so much more from a Meredith Wild book. This isn't one I'd recommend unless you're looking for a quick read that isn't very deep or complex. Her Hardwired/Hacker series and The Bridge series are so much better than whatever this book was. If you're looking for a good read, I'd highly recommend those instead of whatever this was.

Holy mountain man! Luke Dawson seriously made me swoon!! Meredith Wild is one of my go-to authors, but Chelle Bliss is an author I hadn't yet read.

I freaking devoured this book in a matter of hours, and completely fell in love with the story and characters. The storyline was fresh and unique, 2 divorcees with opposite lifestyles. Their meet-cute had me laughing and fanning my face at the same time. And not like anything I've ever read. I love how bold Madison is, going exactly for what she wants when she realizes how lacking her marriage was. She may have ventured up to Avalon Springs for a "rebirth" of sorts, but when she meets Luke, her brain is basically mush and her lady parts take over. Good for her because society dictates that women should be docile and prim with their sexuality. But holy hell does Madison Atwood throw that out the window. She is unashamed in taking what she wants, fulfilling a piece of her life.

I really enjoyed the pacing of the story and seeing a different type of hero. I'm not sure I've ever really read about someone so reclusive. Luke has a heart of gold, but makes mistakes like any other man. What I really loved about him though, was his compromising nature and how well he treated Madison. He doesn't really socialize with people so his nervousness about being around someone he's so attracted to catches him off guard.

Misadventures of a City Girl is hot and sweet with moments of strong emotional depth. I'm excited to read the rest of the Misadventures books from the other authors.

Didn’t know what to expect from this book as it was co-written, but have read many books by Chelle Bliss before so thought I’d be safe and I most definitely was.
I loved Madison and Luke together, Luke’s past was so heart warming and gut wrenching and together with Madisons divorce they helped each other get through their individual issues.
Although the book wasn’t necessarily a short book it took me no time to get through as once I started it I just had to finish it, if this is an insight to the other books in the series then I will definitely be getting those as well.
Would definitely recommend this book, truely awesome.
