From the manufacturer

Kelty Built For Play Image

For D. Kelty, getting outside was a physical need−and as a result, every single thing he made was handcrafted to make the backcountry feel as accessible and comfortable as his own backyard. As the Father of Modern Backpacking, Kelty has always been dedicated to connecting all kinds of folks with the wonders of the wilderness-and encouraging PLAY in its most natural form. Because, let’s face it: nobody works for the Wednesday! And adventure doesn’t have to mean bagging an epic peak. It’s also a truck full of tubes and coolers, it’s baby’s first campout, or a last-minute road trip to whatever festival is happening that weekend. It’s ride-or-die friends, built-to-last gear and a dose of “come what may.” It’s how we work. It’s WHY we work...because each and every one of us is Built for Play.

What a great sleeping bag

What a great sleeping bag
I bought this for my daughter and she loves it. She recently hit a growth spurt and the "kids" or "youth" ones are too short. I really enjoy the built-in blanket and the ability to stick your feet out of the end for a little ventilation. I think I might be getting the men's one for myself!

Thank Goooooodness for a women-designed sleeping bag with a blanket already attached. The sleeping bag is wide and long, so if you're tall, it's still cozy. I camped in below freezing weather with my two dogs stuffed inside and blankets over the bag. I slept through the night and didn't freeze! A pillow fits comfortably in the head area, which can be tighten to keep cold weather out and body temperature in! I thought the blanket would get all tangled up with me moving around, but it did not. If I did, it just slipped to the side and was so light weight that I didn't even think twice about sleeping on it or next to it. This is a great sleeping bag for glampers or standard non-backpacking camping. It is very bulky, but worth the comfort! So glad I purchased it before our trip and didn't freeze!

Super comfy. Lovely to have it adjustable for multiple climates/temps. It says women's but I don't identify as such and it works great for me. (Kelty - you could just make products for all people, you know) One thing is that it doesn't come with a stuff sack, but it's definitely compressible beyond the basic bag it comes in. Just remember to buy a compression bag if you're actually hiking with this bag since it's HUGE normally.
Synthetic fabric and filler seems very well-installed and I expect it will outlive those terrible down-filled bags. At least I won't be complaining if my bag gets a little wet! LOL.

I ordered this after reading many reviews of the quality of the sleeping bag for a camping trip this weekend since my old one fell apart after last season. I am 5'2" and thought a shorter sleeping bag would be great to have. Instead of sending me the women's sleeping bag, they sent me the men's long. I am swimming in this thing. Partially my fault for not realizing it is stated in Amazon's description that it is good for someone that is 6'6" - but I do not understand why title it as a woman's bag, for someone of a shorter stature, have all of the reviews pertain to the women's bag and then send a men's! The sad part is I do not have an alternative to use for this weekend. I will update my review after I return, but I have a strong feeling this is going back as my hunt for a shorter sleeping bag continues.
The bag itself kept me warm and dry, and it was comfortable,, but I had over a foot of room at the bottom. I had no choice but to wash, dry and send it back.

I've needed a cold weather bag for too long so after extensive research, I settled on this one. It was in the low 40s the first night I used it and I was sleeping in a platform tent, so I wore a poly/spandex base layer and a poly/cotton lightweight layer, both were long sleeve and full leg, and two pairs of socks. I was so warm that I could've easily gone without the lightweight layer. The next night it was in the high 20s and I was sleeping in a hammock with a quilted under-curtain, so I wore what I wore the night before with my windproof fleece, and I was borderline uncomfortably warm. My friends were shocked to hear that the next morning. So if you need a warm bag and don't want down, this is the bag to buy. It's very roomy, even in the foot box. I love the fact that my pillow from home fits inside the bag without bunching up. However, the pillow did prevent me from cinching the bag around my head so I'll have to use a smaller pillow if it's really going to be cold.

I have only two complaints. The biggest drawback to this bag is that it's HUGE and HEAVY. I feel like I'm heaving around the bulky flannel rectangle bag I had 25 years ago. Unless you have a pack mule or porters, this bag is definitely not for the backcountry. I will buy a compression sack for it but I don't think it will compress all that much. My other complaint is that it was quite difficult to zip up along the curve at the top where it starts to cross from the upper arm over the face. I couldn't do it from the inside and I was only able to do it by sticking my arms out to grab the outside zipper, and even then, it wasn't one smooth motion. Overall, though, I'm very pleased.

This sleeping bag is very warm and cozy. I enjoyed using the lighter weight blanket when camping in the summer. I would not recommend this sleeping bag for backpacking, it’s huge and didn’t fit in my backpack every with a compression sack I purchased separately. I’d recommend this for car camping. It’s a good option for women who don’t want a restrictive sleeping bag. I wish the lighter blanket unzipped from the main bag so this was more packable.

5.0 out of 5 stars Muy buen sleeping bag
Reviewed in Mexico on January 14, 2020
