Hate To Love You Kindle Edition
It might sound ridiculous. I get it. It kind of was, but college was supposed to be my sanctuary. It was my place to start over. The rumors, the whispers, and the jealousy I endured through high school would all be gone.
No one would know me at college.
Rule #2: No drama.
I’d major in pre-law. I’d make a few loyal friends. Everything would be easy-breezy. No one was going to use me or hurt me. I wouldn’t let them.
Rule #3: New year. New place. New me.
Right?
Wrong.
And all because of Shay Coleman.
Football captain and quarterback, he was the big guy on campus. The cocky guy in my political science class with a smirk.
I hated him on sight . . .
. . . and he was about to break all my rules.
Hate To Love You is a full-length standalone.
There are elements that deal with the dark side of college.

'Hate to Love You' opens with college freshman Kennedy Clarke (Kenz) at her first political science class meeting and her taking an instant dislike to her classmate, football star quarterback Shay Coleman.
Kenz had a plan and that was... 1. to stay away from everyone 2. stay focus and 3. steer clear from the drama and from false friends. In order to do that, she hides the fact her "popular celebrity" brother is at the same college, she is a loner and her attitude is harsh and sarcastic and because of her heart-breaking experience in high school, she's more than adamant to follow through the set of three rules:
#1 No hot guys.
#2 No drama.
#3 New year. New place. New me.
Aaahhh but all the best laid plans... well we know how that trope goes...
'I started college with the plan of befriending one, maybe two people, and I was going to study. I was going places. There would be no boys, no gossiping, no cattiness. I wasn't going to get involved in any drama, and fast-forward a few weeks, and I'm sleeping with the star quarterback...'
As the story develops the background to her attitude is revealed and it's confronting and her strength and resilience is a large part of this books charm. I loved everything about Kenz.. from her sense of humour to her witty banter to her feisty attitude - she made this book a fantastic, nail biting read. With a "serious" message that was interwoven through out the story. It's so much more than a college romance...
I simply adored it. 4.5 Stars...
I just finished a reread of Hate To Love Ypu, it is one my most favourite of all Tijans books and I would love for her to give us more. I think that Kennedy and Shay have more story to tell, I want more Linde and Gage and Casey and Kristina. I think that a certain ex could be trying to start some trouble and I want to see Kennedy and Shay shut them down. I NEED MORE!! Do you hear me Tijan? Seriously though this is one book you will not regret picking up.
Tijan is the one of my favorite NA authors. I am not always a fan of angst but Tijan always does it well. Hate to Love You had the perfect level of not too much and just enough. She also is great at writing unforgettable characters that you can't help but love. Shay and Kennedy are awesome. Kennedy is sarcastic, funny and such a strong heroine. Shay is protective, sexy and sometimes even a little sweet. The banter between them had me smiling. They have the best chemistry. Highly recommend this especially if you love a good college romance.
The only thing I didn't love was the ending it felt a little rushed. There was depth to the situations and the writing and it was a solid 4 star read.
You know when you pick up a book by Tijan that it is going to consume you from the first to last page.
Hate to Love you is the hate to love story of Kennedy and Shay.
Kennedy had sworn herself off guys like Shay... Handsone, Popular and the starting quarterback.
But the attraction was hard to deny.
You will not regret reading this book! This is a stand-alone, no cliff hanger, keep you up all night book!

Must must read, 100 stars from me⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Her justification for her behaviour is weak at best. I dont understand what Shay saw in her, or any of her other friends honestly. While he wasnt exactly interesting. He wasnt as dull or catty as she was. For a university student she was incredibly childish and it got old quickly. I finished it but wish i hadnt bothered.
