Product Description
Get crisp, clean lines on your next painting project with FrogTape® Delicate Surface Painter’s Tape. How does it work? It’s made with PaintBlock® Technology, a super-absorbent polymer that reacts with the water in latex paint and instantly gels to form a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape to prevent paint bleed. The result is a crisp, professional paint line. Specifically designed to work on delicate surfaces such as fresh paint, coated wallpaper and decorative projects, this premium grade masking tape is perfect for when you need a lower adhesion level to help prevent surface damage.

What Makes FrogTape Brand Painter's Tape Unique?
Designed for use with latex paints to avoid paint bleeding. View largerFrogTape is the only painter's tape treated with PaintBlock Technology. No special prep work needed, other than a clean, dust free surface that is dry.Tips For Best Results Using FrogTape
- Clean the surface to be masked with a mild detergent solution.
- Make sure the paint surface is dust-free and dry.
- For accurate placement, adhere FrogTape in short sections to avoid stretching the tape.
- Make sure FrogTape is flush to the edge that you will be painting.
- Using a putty knife, or 5-in-1 tool, press the tape you laid to burnish it to the surface you are masking.
- Remove painting tape immediately after you are finished painting.
How To Select the Right Grade of FrogTape Brand Painter's Tape
The liquid evaporates from the paint and it takes about 24 hours for a paint to be considered "dry to the touch".
After the 24 hours, you can use FrogTape Delicate Surface
From the Manufacturer
FrogTape Delicate Surface Painting Tape is a low adhesion painters tape designed for use on freshly painted surfaces (greater than 24 hours old), faux finishes, primed wallboard and primed wallpaper. It will remove cleanly from most surfaces for up to 60 days. FrogTape is the only tape treated with PaintBlock technology, a super-absorbent technology that reacts with latex paint and instantly forms a micro-barrier that seals the edges of the tape, preventing paint bleed. This results in super sharp paint lines and professional results on baseboards, crown moldings, door and window frames and more. Each roll is 0.94-Inch wide and 60-Yard long. The plastic canister FrogTape comes in keeps it from being damaged (such as the edges being nicked), and keeps dirt and debris off the tape. You can also re-use the empty canister for storage of nuts and bolts, screws, or nails. It is also recyclable.

Only complaint is that it’s a little thin and sometimes tears when coming off - especially if paint has dried on the tape.
The 4 roll pack is a good value. Just store rolls in zip lock sandwich bags to prevent exposure to moisture, which will ruin the paint blocking chemical on the adhesive side of the tape.
I took a panting class and this is the only tape that the instructor recommended. He practically ordered us to buy it.
Since then, I've used it on many watercolor painting with no problems. (once, maybe? With a painting that I left taped for months)
Traditional watercolorists use gummed kraft tape. (like: B0BM895DF7). I have that tape but this works fine and removes much better. I suppose if you are using an absolutely soaked paper, the kraft tape is still better. The kraft tape can also ruin your underlying board Art supply stores probably have a special-purpose tape and I've not used that.
