My name is Toni aleo and I'm a #PredHead, #sherrio, #potterhead, and part of the #familybusiness!

I am also a wife to my amazing husband, mother of a wrestler and a gymnast, and also a fur momma to Phoebe, Gaston el Papillon & Winston.

You can usually find me hollering for the whole Nashville Predators since I'll never give my heart to one player again. When I'm not in the gym getting swole, I'm usually writing, trying to make my dreams a reality or being a taxi for my kids. I'm obsessed with Harry Potter, Supernatural, Disney and anything that sparkles! I'm pretty sure I was Belle in a past life and if I could be on any show it would be supernatural so I can hunt with Sam and Dean.

Also, could I LOVE hockey anymore?

The characters from Canada have grown up together and are a closely bonded'family' of hockey players and their women.. They take care of each other, tease each other, defend each other, and are there for each other in times of crisis. Not only that, but they are funny! In this books, there is closure for 1 couple, and new romance for another! I really enjoyed reading each of the books about Jensen, Vaughn, Will, and Wren.
The only criticism I have is the author's use of the word " thick" when describing a person or body part. To me, it sounds derogatory, and sometimes puzzling, as in what is thick about her body? There are so many words that can be used to describe a person or body part, but this one is in all the books! Please find some more descriptive adjectives! I found myself going along reading, and when coming to that word, saying "oh, no, not again!! Otherwise the stories are all nicely written and I could not put them down!

Welcome to your new favourite leading man! I don't know how any reader can avoid falling in love with Jensen. He is truly amazing. The first impression of these two came in the previous book, where his friend and roommate falls in love. In this story, we get to see the story of Jensen and Wren unfold. He's been in love with her forever, she doesn't feel truly loved or seen and acts accordingly.

Each book in the amazing Assassins series has a unique storyline with a truly new couple. Toni Aleo doesn't recycle characters. Every new character has their own personality and backstory, so it's not like you read the same story with different people after a while. Ms Aleo will take you for a ride and what a great ride it is. Every time. I feel like every book stays with me and every couple is special and I love that previously featured characters appears in new books, but always in a relevant way. This couple and especially this leading man will stay for a long while. He is special.

I loved this story about Jensen and Wren but could not give it 5 stars for a few reasons. first, this is a series about a hockey team and very little hockey was played. Second, Wren is a therapist for the team but she is such a mess herself it is hard to believe she could help anybody. Third, the author has made Jensen 100 percent perfect. I would have liked to see him get a little upset, mad, more emotions then always happy and in love with Wren. Hard to believe anyone could be that perfect. But now the positive ....Again the author has given us great characters to love and get to know with lots of great dialogue and humor. Several times I was laughing out loud at the scenario and dialogue between everyone. Wren...in the beginning I felt was just a wild party girl. But as the story evolves her story becomes the one to focus on for me as we understand why she does things the way she does and I felt sad for her. Her insecurities and lack of confidence in herself comes through and I just wanted to hug her. I was glad she had Jensen who had loved her for years and understood her. For me this is one of the best books in the series and I recommend this book.

The Assassin's are back proving they are first class champions once again.  In The Crease by Toni Aleo is the twelfth book in the dynamic Assassins hockey series.

Wren Lemiere, the team psychologist finds herself pushing thirty, happily single, and unexpectedly pregnant.  She never wanted to get married let alone become a mother. She can deal with the unexpected pregnancy and becoming a mother but what she cannot deal with is the circumstances it leaves her in.  She could lose her inheritance if she has a child out of wedlock before she turns thirty.  She's depending on this inheritance not only to make her life better but also give her brother the share he lost when he openly declared he was gay.  The baby daddy is out of the question.  He is a douche.  She has to find a husband fast.  When she turns to her childhood friend Jenson Monroe for help, her life once again takes an unexpected direction.

Jenson Monroe agrees to marry Wren but on his conditions.  He's loved her most of his life and sees this as his only opportunity to prove his love.  Wren has serious issues and she's going to be hard nut to crack.  He wasn't named the top goalie in the league because he backed down, he's focused, determined, and willing to wait for the right moment.

Wren and Jenson both have their issues from the past but Wren's are emotionally paralyzing her.  Jenson has his work cut out for him but he's determined to win the happily ever after.

This is not the typical contract marriage with a baby in the works kind of romance.  This is a story of two very real people struggling with issues from their past.  One is much more well adjusted and the other is denying it all.  Add other family dynamics such as a gay athlete marrying the wrong man, a father denying his son's sexuality, a mother trying to fix it all with the perfect wedding, parents with health issues, and a best friend who is also a hockey player that has no filters and the book gets much more interesting.  In the end the happily ever after becomes a choice for them all.  Toni Aleo has another winner in the Assassin's playbook.

Reviewed in the United Kingdom on June 7, 2021
Love these books and reading about Jensen in the previous one knew his heart was good, but Wren she was hard to define until you realised she put up barriers to hide behind and Jensen saw what others didn't. This was a lovely read and was rooting for Jensen all the way. Loved reading about previous characters as well and both sets of parents. Some funny stories also between Vaughan ,Wells and Jenson loved their banter

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE, LOVE, LOVED THIS BOOK!!
Reviewed in Canada on November 4, 2017
I am never disappointed with a book by Toni Aleo and this one was no exception. The love story of Wren, counselor for the Assassins, and Jensen, the Assassins goalie, was awesome. I loved these characters. Wren is a hard - ass strong woman who refuses to believe she can love and be loved. Jensen has loved her for 15 years. Unusual circumstances bring them together in marriage and Wren fights her feelings for a very long time. Then her past rears its ugly head and Wren is scared her marriage is about to implode. Meanwhile, while this is going on at her brother's wedding, an uninvited and surprising guest at the church turns Wells' world upside down.

Can't wait for Wells' story coming soon! In the meantime, I highly recommend this series to all! With all due respect to Toni's misguided support of the Predators (wink, wink), I say GO WINNIPEG JETS!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Altogether absolutely worth your time to read

Definitely one of my favorites!
From other Toni Aleo Books (Assasins series) you know the main characters Jensen and Wren. Here you get to know them better and how close they will come.
Wren is in the terrible situation that a guy She had fun with left her alone and pregnant. Although she always tries to push everyone away she needs somebody‘s help. And she is seeking it from Jensen.
As He is willing to do almost everything for Wren, he wants all of her and fights for it. He is so hot and loveable and strong-you can only swoon.
The icing on the cake are Vaughn and Wells and the dialogues with them-hilarious and so great!!!
Altogether absolutely worth your time to read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Stop... READ THIS BOOK
Reviewed in Canada on August 25, 2017
Jenson is really to good to be true... If you are man read this book it will definitely make you better for it.
Wren, oh Wren, I just can't believe people treat people so cruel unintentionally, until you read how her life unfolds. She's had to fight to stay in the game, just to be noticed. She'd replace sex for love because it was easier BUT NOT ANYMORE....Jenson changes everything! He shows her with his words, his looks of passion and overall love that she is worth more than just sex! I hate when a good book ends...
