Good while it lasted

Good while it lasted
I did a ton of research trying to find a good insole to replace the collapsed insoles that came with my Keen boots. After hours of scouring the internet I landed on these insoles. At first these were great, I suffer from plantar fasciitis which doesn't go well with standing for 10 hours a day at work. I purchased these in July 2023 but already in the last few weeks I have noticed a massive amount of pain in my heels. Almost as if my heels are bruised. The Insoles still felt supportive so I didn't think they were the issue. It wasn't until today that I took them out of my shoes to do some cleaning. Immediately I noticed that the foam had collapsed and was conforming to the hard shell of the heel. This caused the once smooth heel shape of the insoles to have a hard lump on the inner edge right about where I was feeling some intense pain after removing my shoes. Now I'll admit I am a heavier guy, almost 300lbs with all my work gear so these insoles didn't have an easy life. But I would still expect a little more life out of these, or maybe a failure mode that is a little less painful. If you are lighter than I am or have narrow feet you may never experience this. But my wide 12.5 size feet and these insoles were not compatible after only a couple months of use. It was good while it lasted but I'm back on the hunt for something better.

5.0 out of 5 stars March on.
Reviewed in the United States on November 28, 2018
Used with a pair of Adidas tacti-cool (9.something? 5.whatever? They sell them on here too.) boots for my switch from rural to city letter carrier.
These are the type where my nearly-flat feet had to adjust to the insoles, but they were definitely worth it. Doesn't matter if I'm doing businesses, jumping in and out the truck for hours on end, or a 12 mile walking route. They work and work well.
I left the army five years ago, and haven't done any serious walking since, but the combination of these boots and soles is the best I've ever had.
Day one, I dropped the superfeet into size 13 boots so they'd wear in together. They fit with no trimming, and haven't slid around in 7 months of continuous wear. The support in the soles not only reduces fatigue, but also works with the tread pattern for sure omnidirectional movement.
I also commute by motorbike daily. The raised arches don't cause pain or fatigue on the footpegs either.

I'd recommend a civilian type wear them for an active weekend before working in them. Former and current soldiers can go straight to duty, but don't try the 20k on your first outing.

I'm getting the same combination when these wear out, and probably am going to add them to my next casual shoe too.
I haven't tried them as running soles, and frankly don't have the time. Would trust them to hold up to the impact though.
