My husband loves hockey but since the season has ended I've gotten this for him as a gift and have now officially taken the title of Best Wife Ever. I may even let him play it eventually :)
As always the game gets better and has the same crappy AI can do no wrong attitude that makes me hate these games. Either the settings are default and you can't keep the puck, or you turn down the settings and now it is unfair and you can score way too easily. EA once again creates a hockey game that I both love and hate.
Same thing as every year since '09... Decent (albeit regurgitated) gameplay with a bunch of "features" no one cares about. My gripe is that the only reason I play (EASHL) is always ruined within the first couple months of release by cheating, unbalanced play, poor server load balancing, odd slider tweaking or a combination of all of these. Whatever the reason, this year's no exception and I'm at the point where I feel ripped off paying for the same recycled problems over and over again. Of course EA doesn't see things that way...
Online is better this year. The latency issue from previous years is, well less common. I mainly play EASCHL and there's still some game breaking bugs they haven't addressed. Hopefully the license will go to a company that actually cares next time. It's disappointing how much needs to be fixed and how little is done.
