I've had this fan for a little over a week now and I couldn't be happier. It's aesthetically pleasing, with a kind of future chic look. The inclusion of touch screen buttons instead of traditional push buttons is a nice touch. I haven't used several of the different modes that the fan has for any extended period of time but they are all interesting and I can see how each one would be useful in certain situations. The sleep funtion, for example, seems like it will be extremely useful and I can see myself using it regularly in the fall when the temperature drops steeply at night. One concern I had before receiving the fan was how sturdy it would be. I live in an apartment with two cats and a dog and I was concerned it might be too easy to knock over. Once I got the fan and set it up I found that the base was fairly heavy and provided a solid enough foundation that my previous concerns were completely unjustified. The final thing I would like to mention is the sound. I have a hearing deficiency which makes it difficult for me to filter background noise. Due to this, it was extremely important to me to find a fan that was quiet enough that it would not interfer with things like watching t.v. or having conversations. This was the primary reason I chose this fan and after having received it I am supremely pleased. While the fan is not without any noise, it is quiet enough that it is easily ignorable even given my particular needs.

I purchased this fan about 2 years ago.. and since that time.. The only fan that works is the top fan.. and even then it makes very loud, almost scraping noises when it is on.. The other two fans stopped working after a few months into the purchase and haven't worked since..

For a product this expensive you would expect some level of reliability.. There is none.. So I'm stuck with one fan, and two broken fans as well as a base that doesn't oscillate.. Overall.. Not worth the price in my honest opinion.

Has a nice, sleek design to it, with a sturdy, glass base to boot. I love this product because of the ability to turn on and off individual fans, offering much flexibility in terms of airflow, plus its quieter then the previous fan we used to have in the bedroom.

The remote is a nice feature, as it makes it so you don't have to get up from bed at night to adjust the speeds if you're feeling too hot or cold. Plus, the timer option is nice, so you can set it to shut off well after you fall asleep. The Nature mode is a unique feature, as it cycles between different fan speeds every five seconds. An interesting option, although personally I don't really use it.

Edit:
One major flaw I find is that when the fan is in swing mode for at least 15 minutes or so, the unit starts to make a buzzing sound. As time passes, this buzzing sound gets louder and louder, but in stationary mode, the sound goes away. I don't know if it's just my model is defective or what, but I really don't use it in swing mode too often anyways.

The fan arrived exactly on schedule (which happened to be the hottest day of the year so far) and did not disappoint. It took seconds to set up and is sturdy and not obnoxiously loud. I've yet to thoroughly test out all the settings but what I can say after day one is that I was pleasantly surprised to wake up last night feeling somewhat cold, for once. Even more pleasant,(thank you, Remote Control!) was the fact that I did not have to get up to turn the fan down and was able to turn the oscilation on or off, thus adjusting the direction of the air from where I was sitting. It works well and does not have that rickety, space-wasting cheap look that most fans have- I appreciate that, even if my friend did think it was a speaker. I'm pleased with my choice to get the best fan rather than the cheapest air conditioner.

A Sexy Fan With One Glaring Flaw...

I purchased this fan over a year ago. Overall, I am pleased with it. It has many good features. Here are some of the pros and cons:

Pros

1. Easy to assemble
2. Very solid and heavy base. I'm not worried this will tip over.
3. It is not louder than a regular fan. Considering how small the three fans are, I was worried about the noise factor. The smaller the fan, the more air it has to push. Therefore, it should produce more noise, but fortunately this is not an issue (compared to other fans).
4. I love, love, love the remote, electronic features and the little hideaway slot for the remote behind the fan. This part was brilliant!
5. It looks fantastic! This may be superficial, but I love how it looks in my living room!

Con:

1. Noisy when it oscillates. Unfortunately, this is a big con for me. The Ozeri makes all kinds of rattling and vibration noises while it oscillates.

It seems many fans nowadays have this problem. In fact, the only other fans that I know of that oscillate quietly and DON'T produce rattling and vibration noises are the older models that my parents gave me LOL!

Two important features I need from a fan: That it pushes air effectively and is reasonably quiet. Everything else (the fantastic looks, fancy electronics and remote control, etc) are secondary. Unfortunately (especially for the price), Ozeri falls a little short with this one...

*Update: March 14, 2015

I've barely used this fan during the winter. Just a few times to help circulate the air, but it seems the rattling and vibration noises are only getting worse. I'm bringing my rating down to 2 stars. There really is no excuse for this (especially at this price point). Everyone who has seen this fan is impressed UNTIL they hear it when I turn it on. I just cannot recommend this fan to anyone or to buy Ozeri.

I live in an...ahem.... "Vintage" hi-rise condo where one of the lovely advantages is that one either has heat or A/C, as determined by building management.

It has been VERY VERY warm for March, with temps around 80 outside, and MUCH higher inside (uncomfortable, to say the least). It was time for a fan, a nice one.

I about had a stroke to go along with my heat stroke when I looked at a Dyson at a club store- over $400 - looked nice, but it was loud and did not seem all that strong. I will save that purchase for when I win the lottery, or something.

Came home ( still hot) and looked at Amazon. There were several brands of tower fans, at several price points. Most looked like my old ( and notorious company bankrupting) "Ionic Breeze Quadra" thing. I wanted a bit more style.

I was happy to see the Ozeri 3x model - I liked the style, and the glass base. The remote was a big plus, as were the touch sensitive
controls. A very short 24 hours later, my new fan arrived.

Big box, well packaged. ULTRA EASY to put together it was up and running withing 3 minutes! I really like the 3 fan configuration, and the noiseless swivel option. Really moved the air around, and BEST OF ALL, it cooled the place down! PRICELESS! And it was NOT $400!

The unit was a bit taller than I expected, and I have no problem with that. The build quality seems quite nice, and the glass stand keeps it steady. The main unit is piano black plastic, if you were wondering.

It is reasonably quiet, but like any fan, you can hear it, if you listen. The LED's seem to bug some people, but I rather like them.

(Then again, I still have lights on my fake ficus tree's , and consider them to be an homage to the late 70's!).

Of course there are cheaper fans out there, and some more expensive ones -- but none are BETTER than the Ozeri. I have found this to be a great buy, and am the envy of several in the condo complex!

When I buy things I always consider the form factor, ease of use and if it would make a good gift. In this case, I think it would be perfect for anyone- particularly seniors ( LOVE the remote! Ease of set-up!) and people going off to college. The grilles are done in such a way that small fingers will not be in danger, and it is high enough off the floor ( and steady enough ) to avoid being a danger to most pets.

Well worth your consideration - get yours, before you get too hot!

I've had this fan for just over a week now at time of writing, and it is working out better than expected.

Backstory: My previous Walmart bought Lasko packed it in after 3yrs of service, and I was on the hunt for a nicer looking, more feature rich replacement this time. Since I always check Amazon first before purchasing items, I found my way to the more expensive and more aesthetically pleasing fans on offer here. My first thought was to get the Dyson AM02 after the demo I had seen of it, but I just kept staring at the price. I didn't want another Lasko, and the Vornado Air Circulator that crossed my radar was out because it didn't oscillate (I have reasons for needing the function, despite their claims). My research finally led me to Ozeri. In my search results, I saw something that looked oddly cool, something that didn't exactly resemble a tower fan at all. Behold the 3x! Well, I wanted it right away just from looking at it, but such a price for a little known brand (to me) made me apprehensive. From looking at the reviews, and of closer images, my concerns were all but squelched. I pulled the trigger and hoped for the best.

The Fan: The fan arrived in 1 day (Thanks Prime!), I opened the box very carefully, in case I felt the need to return it, and was very happily surprised. The components are of high quality, and the fit and finish of the whole thing is very nice. I was not expecting the fan to be built or look so good, even though I paid as much as I did. As other reviewers have mentioned, the base is glass and very modern looking. The gloss finish wtih metallic accenting is very well executed, and the operation is very intuitive if you take the time to play with it (don't throw the user guide away too fast though). The fans are quiet at their lowest setting (I'm being realistic..so not silent) as well as the oscillating mechanism (which is silent). The biggest selling point with this unit is the fact that it has multiple independent fan units, which allows for varied noise and varied flow. You might think it a gimmick, but it comes in handy went you wan't directional airflow without it being aimed at your face (which nice for all of 10min). Another cool thing about the fan is the Natural mode. It mimics the types of breezes one might get when sitting on their porch on a spring evening or walking through a park. It works by varying the airflow intervals (on/off/on/off) at predetermined times to achieve that effect. I thought my fan was broken when it first started doing it, but holding on to that user manual saved me once again.

Complaints: The only complaint I have is that, when using the remote, you need to be directly in front of the unit to make changes. It has been a minor annoyance to have to get up or wait for the unit to oscillate back in my direction to do something. With that being said, all of the pluses this fans has far outweigh that issue.

Summary: I took a chance, and was rewarded with a unique looking, great performing tower fan. I would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone who wants to step outside the box a little, but not at the expense of quality or performance. I will be purchasing another one for my home theater room since it fits in so well with the decor(it even looks like a tower speaker).

This fan belongs on your short list.

DELIGHTED WITH MY FAN

I've been wanting this fan for months, but it was $129 each time I looked. I needed a fan for the spare room where I keep my desktop computer and pilates exercise machine. The spare room is the only room I don't have a ceiling fan. I had it removed because I kept hurting myself when flinging my arms up in the air while exercising, I would forget the fan was on! I've really missed having a fan, I get really hot in the summer when I'm exercising. I looked for this fan in Home Depot and Lowes, but they didn't have it.

I'd given up on buying this fan, I wasn't even looking any more until recently. I was looking in my Wish List, and almost fell off my chair, when I noticed this fan had gone down in price to less than I expected it would, $94, I was beside myself with joy and ordered it right away.

It didn't take long for it to arrive by UPS. I was a little worried when I saw the box was damaged, but the contents were OK. It didn't take long to put together. You have to unscrew a large nut on the bottom of the stand, then re-attach it under the base, then attach the nut to the bottom. I didn't have the threads in right at first and it wouldn't tighten enough, so I tried again and that did the job.

I like the fact that the little remote can be stored in the handle, I'm always losing things. I had it on yesterday while I was exercising, and I felt really comfortable (usually I'm sweating) I love the way it rotates at which speed I choose. I have it on now while I'm using my computer, it feels great. I do have an A/C but I don't like to have it on all the time, it's too expensive. I really like this fan, it makes a bit of a noise, but it's not too bad. When it's rotating it actually has a theraputic effect, like a nice breeze, it doesn't blast me. I love the compactness of this fan, it looks so attractive, much better than ordinary fans. I had been looking at other fans, but this is the only one I liked the look of.

***UPDATE***

I've had the fan for three months now, and I'm still very happy with it. Without this fan, I would be really uncomfortable working on my computer and exercising in the summer months. I did say it wasn't too noisy, but I recently had my ears tested and found out I have 40% hearing loss, the doctor said it wasn't normal for someone my age. Yesterday I picked up a couple of hearing aids, now I can hear everything (for the first time in years) like normal. I knew I had a problem, but never knew it was so bad.

Now I can hear the fan properly, I wanted to let you know that if you're planning to use it in the bedroom while sleeping, it may be a problem, it is a bit noisy. It's not the noisiest fan though, a few months ago I sent the following fan back to HSN.

It was unbelievably noisy and didn't cool the room, I dread to think how much louder it would have sounded with my new hearing aids. It probably would have sounded like a jumbo jet! I'm glad I got this fan, I love it.

The last half dozen or so packages I've received from Amazon have been in piss poor condition on arrival. Of course this being a large, heavier fan I figured it would be pretty beat up at by the time it reached by door. To my surprised the box was in excellent shape and the fan arrived in just fine condition. I've only been using the fan for a day, but so far it seems great. It has 3 settings: high, medium, and low. It also has this outside sim mode where it goes from high to low, progressively. It has a night mode where it cycles from high to low just like the outside mode. This really has to be the most useless feature on a product I've seen in years. Not only because it's not useful but because I can tell no difference from the 2 of 3 modes offered on the fan. I'd say it's identical.

You are able to independently turn off the individual fans, so 1,2, or 3 could be running at the same time or 2 could be one one off and any combination you can think of. It rotates something like 110 to 120 degrees, if I had to guess.

Oh yeah it was easy to assemble. The only think I had to do was screw on the base which was as easy as rotating the base around the bottom. It comes with a small controller which is convenient. There is one thing about the plug that I wasn't too thrilled about. It isn't a 3 prong grounded cord which is a plus while on the downside the instructions say to not use an extension cord or a surge protector. The extension cord I understand, the surge protector, not so much. I'm not sure if this is just a safety deal they put on the instructions for liability purposes, but this could be inconvenient for some people.

Assuming my electricity bill doesn't decide to go through the roof from using this summer, I wouldn't mind having one of these in each room. And assuming they last the summer, quality is always a factor when buying items such as this.

Edit: 2 or so days after buying this and thinking it was the best fan I've ever had one of the fans stopped spinning. Since this is a feature on the fan to turn off individual fans I tried cycling through the settings, turning it off and on, and unplugging it. So bummed out about this fan not working. The fan starting to make a clicking noise yesterday so I don't know if this is a problem with the fan itself, a known problem, or it just has an obnoxious clicking noise. Anyways save your money. Thankfully Amazon had an option for UPS to pick it up (it didn't mention any charges for it) for free (?) I hope, because I didn't feel like driving it to the UPS store.

I will not recommend this to anyone.

Edit: After being contacting my customer service my overall opinion about buying one of these again has slightly changed. While I personally wouldn't, I'd likely advise caution to future customers, rather than just outright sending them the other direction. Anyways, it may just be outstanding Amazon customer service- I can't really tell. Either way, with each his own.
