I've met her a couple of years ago at a nutrition class when I wasn't really ready to listen. She is amazing, inspiring, and oh so knowledgeable!! I recommend also following her on social media for more great advice/tips - search on fb or insta "cassie.net".
If you're in the edge, it's worth the little money for this awesome book!
I have a very stressful life that includes a husband on a vent with ALS, being his full-time caregiver and also trying to continue to work. Me time - what the heck is that? So ther were many hurdles that I had to overcome inside of myself before fully committing. Mostly they had to do with reaching for SUGAR to help with the stress. (which it never actually does).
I grew up with the "scrape a knee, here have a cookie" type of situation. Something I didn't do with my own children, due to my constant weight struggles.
Fast forward to this fall. The day after Thanksgiving, I committed 100% to the PFC, along with strick Paleo template. I made sure that all my meals were PFC, leaning slightly heavier on the F. Probably not really, but since most of us have been brain washed to avoid F at all costs, what seems heavy to me, even coming from a loose paleo diet, still is probably the perfect amount.
I did not record one thing and I also stayed off the scale for an entire month. No macros, no calories. I just made sure my plate was filled as Cassie recommends in her book. I also started trying to get in my 10,000 steps a day. Mostly they were just done around the house. If I could get someone here, I would go for a quick 30 min walk with the dog. That's it. I lost 9.2 lbs and 12+" that first month. That, if you noticed the timing, was between Thanksgiving and Christmas!
I have continued on with this same set up through today, almost 4 months. As of the end of month 3, I was down 19 lbs and 27+". Still only weighing 1x a month. (I can obsess on the scale number, just like a food diary)
I started out needing to lose about 50lb. I'm more than 1/3 of the way to my goal. If I average it out, I'm losing just over a 1 lbs per week. Not speedy, but effective.
One of the biggest things I noticed, was I no longer crave sugar. I have more energy and I handle the stress of my situation much, much better. Far better than when grabbing the sugar fix (can you say chocolate or donuts?). When I passed the 90 day mark, I did allow myself a very small peice of 85% chocolate now and then. However, I limit it, because I consider it a slippery slope for me. I have not touched donuts and don't plan to, they don't sound good to me any more.
I highly recommend reading and implementing what Dietitian Cassie recommend in her book. It does work. If you are on the fence. Buy this book, you can't go wrong, you health depends on getting things right. You will feel sooo much better!

This book is easy to read and understand and breaks down the science behind weight loss in order to help you achieve your best weight. Definitely a book I will recommend to my clients!
The book changed my views about food and as soon as I'd finished it I set about ordering fresh, organic, grass fed food.
I took notes throughout of examples of fat, carbs and protein and the general guidelines of volume of each. I then mixed and matched to set a week's eating plan and made a shopping list.
I've been struggling with panic attacks and anxiety and therapy wasn't helping. Within a few days of reading the book and changing my eating I already feel better and now I know it's because I've stepped off the blood sugar roller coaster.
I have been a big fan of dietitian Cassie for a while and this book brings together all her advice in one place;she also highlights the importance of sleep, stress and cutting back on chronic cardio. It is has made me rethink life in general and I'm actually really excited about moving forward and improving my overall wellbeing.
If you are wondering if you should buy this book I say buy it right now! It's the most comprehensive book on how to make sure all the jigsaw pieces of health, and weight loss, come together to make you happier and healthier.
