    I am not sure why the negative reviews but I believe most of them are due to the seller and not the actual product, or maybe the product because of the seller. Either way I ordered mine from EOG distribution and they were amazing with every question I had regarding my order. My iPhone 5 was in fact a Verizon phone, it took me minutes to set up. I had to purchase a Nano sim card separate which I also bought on Amazon for a low price that turned out perfect. The phone came with a new charger and cord and looked in great shape. There were very minor nicks on it. Since I bought a refurbished one it was to be expected. But it works great. I did have an issue with the battery not holding a charge and this is very common with older iPhone 5's and probably any phone, as I have read all over the internet. I contacted EOG Distribution and they said they would refund me $20 which is great because I ordered a brand new battery install kit off Amazon with great reviews for that price. So all is good. If you were going to order one I would make sure you got a reputable seller to purchase it from though because to me that seems to be the problem with all of these negative reviews. I checked EOG Distribution's rep and they were 100% and it's no wonder why! I will order from them again for sure!

    I originally bought one of these for myself back in October. I was so pleased that I got another one for my wife for Christmas. Both were simply listed as "Acceptable," with the possibility of scratches or other cosmetic issues, but they were good as new when they arrived. I was concerned that maybe the battery life wouldn't be great on a used iPhone, but both are doing just fine (January 25th as I write). Everything functions perfectly - I use the wifi quite a bit, plus the Bluetooth for my wireless earbuds. I've been posting photos to Facebook,Instagram, and Tumblr - really pleased with the quality of the pictures. Getting a 5 right after the release of the 6 was probably good timing, I suppose. In any event, I have the highest regard for this vendor and would certainly turn to them again. I'm not one to write reviews on Amazon, but I saved the reminder email just so I could post something about this purchases... or purchases, I should say, since I wound up getting two.

    I bought this phone as a replacement for my iPhone 5C that had an unfortunate spin cycle in the washer when my wife washed my pants. I guess that's what happen when you make the no insurance gamble. Being faced with buying a brand new phone at full price was not exactly something I was happy about. I looked at the price for an iPhone 6 or 6S, but was not prepared to pay $800+ for a phone. Even replacing my 5C turned out to be over $400. In desperation for a replacement iPhone I began looking at used devices and came across this one which I purchased for $220. Although it was technically a downgrade from the 5C, I knew that the differences were merely cosmetic and it was well worth the potential price savings. I was a little skeptical at first, but I asked the Amazon Warehouse Deals customer service a few questions and ordered. The phone came in unofficial packaging, but with brand new official accessories. I wouldn't say the phone looked brand new, but it was in great condition. There were no scratches on the screen and very light wear on the back of the phone that was hardly noticeable. The earpiece was a little dirty, but there was no real actual damage to the device from use. I began loading my apps and programs onto the phone and using it, but within the first week I realized one thing was horribly wrong. The battery life was awful! It would not even make it past lunch time! I called customer service and was ready to ship it back. Shortly before getting it packaged and ready to go, my mother reminded me that there was a battery recall on iPhone 5s and that if it was one of the models on recall I could proabably get the battery replaced by Apple for free. I checked Apple's website and typed in the phone serial and sure enough, it was on the recall list. I reluctantly drove to the Apple store and had them check it out. After about 4 hours they replaced the battery free of charge with a brand new battery. Now the phone works as good as new! Overall, the used gamble paid off and I would definitely recommend trying a use device if you are in a similar situation. I think Amazon does need to check these devices and make sure they have Apple replace the batteries before selling them to customers though. Even though the replacement is free, it did cost me time and gas which is inconvenient.

    Needed a Verizon phone newer than a 4s. Wife had a 4 that thanks to new OS upgrades slowed it down to a frustrating crawl. As many know, downgrading OS's can be extremely problematic. But we had a year left on contract and didn't want to pay the ridiculous prices for new phones. We needed something like an iPhone 5 or better, in good condition, that was around $200.

    These guys made it happen. The phone was in excellent condition, probably better than described, and has been working flawlessly for about a month. The only thing we had to do was take it down to Verizon to get a New SIM card. But this was free and painless.

    My wife is happy now and no longer complains about her paperweight-worth iphone 4. That alone is worth 5 stars.

    Shipping was relatively quick too!

    I bought this phone "refurbished' for about $200 to replace my 4S that randomly died and never turned back on. After the first few days, I noticed a problem and decided to be proactive and do some research. Turns out it had that notorious battery issue.
    I went ahead and contacted Apple and within a day they had fixed my phone and I had a new battery. All was good on the western front.
    Fast forward some time, now my lock button does not work and I cannot lock it. I have to use the assisted touch feature to lock it. Annoying, but of well.
    Fast forward a few more months, the locking switch on the side has a problem and is constantly locking and unlocking itself. It's always vibrating and drives me crazy!
    Anyway, those are my annoyance but other than that the phone is fine. Apple really know how to build a shelf life into these things. I think it has been almost a year and my phone battery is barely holding a charge again.
    Time for the 6? Maybe.
