Top reviews from the United States

My daughters and I enjoyed this book. We used it for our homeschool for a refresher of the states, but there was so much more inside this book! It was presented in alphabetical order with perfect rhyming on each page for each state. Included were the abbreivations for each state, which number each state was in joining the USA, and birds, flowers, and trees in each state. The pictures were cute and went along nicely with the text.
I found this book on a free download day on Amazon and I am voluntarily sharing my review. It would make a great book for homeschoolers, as well as students learning state capitals. We would recommend the book for children around ages 3-8.

Cute drawings and lots of repetition, which most kids seem to love. I could see this being a great book for early readers, or for reference for each state’s basic info. But it would be too lengthy and wordy to read all at once as a bedtime story.

This is not a sit and read and then put away book. This is a read look through the massively illustrated pictures and read the stuffed full of information word section and enjoy. The illustrations are extreme, in the best way. You can sit and stare and stare and still see something new. The information section, I caught myself singing along with it. The rhyming is so good you can't help putting it to music. Every school age child needs this book. Every adult who likes history needs this book. So, I highly recommend this book.
I borrowed this book on a Kindle Unlimited website and so can you.

This book is a good educational resource for young children for use in learning basic information about the states. Each state is presented alphabetically and the same rhyme is repeated throughout with only the facts changing, which included the order in which it entered the union, the capital, and the state's flower, tree, and bird. Each state's motto is also provided. While the text is written with a sing-song approach in mind, this is in no way a read aloud type of book for children. The illustrations; however, are definitely what make the book attractive and help guide young readers towards learning more interesting and unique features about each state. I think that had it not been decided to hem in the text with the same structured pattern, the more entertaining story presented in each illustration could have been presented, making this a much more effective and enjoyable book. This will definitely get more use as a reference source, but the illustrations can serve as a conversation starter towards engaging kids with the more fascinating aspects of each state.

DISCLAIMER: I received a copy of this book for free in exchange for an honest and thoughtful review.

This book is a great educational resource for teaching children about the United States of America! Each page is filled with facts about each state! My state, California, had an amazing illustration of the Golden Gate Bridge!

This book was a disappointment. It is beautifully bound and does list the states in alphabetical order but provides no historical information, nothing that sets each state as unique, no actual pictures of the state. It merely lists the trees, flowers and birds you would find in that states. There is a picture of a US map on the cover but there is a bear covering the middle.
