Product Description
Product Description
Lightweight titanium head with milled face drives like a larger steel hammer, but with 45% less weight and 10 times less recoil shock. Less weight and less recoil helps to reduce carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow which translates into less pain, less down time, and more productivity. The ergonomic American hickory handle allows for greater swing leverage. Sure Hold wedges assure a solid head-to-handle connection. Straight claw design gives improved nail pulling performance. Features magnetic nail starter on nose of hammer for easy 1-handed nail starts in overhead work. The Product is manufactured in China.

If you're used to a standard 16-ounce claw hammer, this lightweight titanium hammer from Stilletto will make you feel like Popeye after he's had his can of spinach. This beauty has a graceful curve in its hickory handle that's ergonomically better for swinging--a small modification that makes a gigantic difference. It weighs only 14 ounces, but it drives like the big boys. We liked the magnetized nail groove, because it helps prevent hitting fingernails. The manufacturer says this is the world's first titanium-head hammer, and if that's true, there are sure to be copycats. The only word of caution: titanium has a million merits, but be aware that it will spark if chipped. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste
From the Manufacturer
When you look at the Titan hammers from Stiletto Tool Co., you can see it's a well crafted tool. What you can't see is that this may be the lightest framing hammer you'll ever hold. Stiletto Tool Company proudly traces its history to the earliest days of the California Gold Rush. Since 1849, we have provided professionals and homeowners the tools that have literally shaped the building of the West. Today, Stiletto's line of Titanium hammers brings the tradition into the 21st century. Lighter by nearly half the weight of conventional hammers, Stiletto's line of Titanium hammers significantly decreases the incidence of carpal tunnel syndrome and other repetitive-motion, stress-related injuries. The lightness of Titanium creates a greater head velocity with less effort. Its strength assures there is no loss in driving power.

Now I’ll start by saying I love my estwing and always will. BUT, after today I’m assuming my estwing is going to start collecting some dust.
I received my 14oz Stilleto with 18” handle yesterday and used it for the first time today for crane day.
We set 7x 80’ double ply trusses today along with all the pearlings and the wind & lateral bracing for those trusses. So I was swinging all day and hitting everything from your standard 16d smooth shank to a 6” ring shank nail. Waffle head held up just fine.
I don’t know how consistent they are with their handles, but the gain on my handle was in perfect orientation.
And if you want your hammer to continue to pull nails out, don’t use your hammer to pry on stuff. That’s not what it’s made for. That’s what the “pry bar” was made for. A tool is only as good as the operator using it 😉
All in all I think I fell in love with this hammer after today and wondering why I haven’t sucked it up and bought one sooner hahaha. I bought mine for $100 when they were on sale.
My original thought was to look on Amazon to see if I could get a good price on one but he told me that when he purchased his here in Hawai’i, he had to go through several at the hardware store in order to find one where the wood grain in the handle ran in the proper direction. So I was reluctant to buy one without being able to have it in my hand to look at it, but when I finally saw this particular one available no for literally $40 less then what I could get here locally, and $15 less than what I could get at Home Depot, I decided to give it a gamble. Good news is mine showed up with a handle for the green runs properly which if you look at the bottom of the handle, the grain should run In the same direction of the head of the hammer. In other words from claw to striker. The other way around would make it quite a bit more apt to break. I’ve read the reviews which state at the waffle head can wear out, but that can happen with a lot of hammers, and for the price I got this thing around 85 bucks, it’s worth the investment. If you’ve never had one of these hammers, it’s pretty amazing and it’s ability to strike like a much heavier hammer while wearing so much less. I know from my weaker wrists an aging body, this is especially handy and I can really tell the difference.
Mine is brand new so I can’t speak to it, but my friend does complain that the heads can work our way off after a while, and he hast to drive something new into the top to secure it again. Something that stiletto should look at seriously for the price of their hammers. If when you read this review and Can still get it Iunder $90. I would highly recommend it
I would say that if you are a huge person and have been working as a professional framer for years, this is probably not for you. But for someone who does occasional framing (it's one of several jobs for me) and who is on the smaller side (145 pounds) this thing is a dream.
Basic conclusion: titanium hammers should become an industry standard for framers residential and commercial alike. And paying 2/3 of what they normally go for was a huge bonus.
