End Game (Dirty Money, #4) is the epic conclusion to the best romantic-suspense series I read in 2017--a series I honestly hoped would never end. Like all of the preceding novels in the Dirty Money series, it rocked my world--and being from California, I know what it feels like when the earth rocks under your feet. I loved everything about End Game--except one deeply personal sacrifice that was vital to the plot, but heartbreaking nonetheless. It was a logical, perfectly timed plot twist, one that revealed more about the characters than would have been possible had it been written any other way; but it still hurt like a punch to the solar plexus. The pain lingered through the end of the book and beyond.

Lisa Renee Jones has created unforgettable characters in the Brandon family, especially in Shane, the alpha hero whose internal and external conflicts drive the plot relentlessly toward its conclusion; and in Emily, Shane's lover and a dark heroine with secrets of her own. The supporting characters are also extraordinarily well-developed, layered and complex, with twists and turns that parallel the elaborate plot and provide the contrast between light and dark that defines this series.
If you're looking for an intelligent, sexy, suspenseful series that will take you on an emotional journey at a breakneck pace, with characters that will stay in your mind and heart forever, look no further. This story is so absorbing you will lose track of time and place, and when it's done, it will leave you with a book hangover that may last for weeks - at least it did for me. I'll read it again while I hope for more of Shane and Emily in the future - and look forward to Lisa's next remarkable series.
