Dawn (Now) Looks Like Dusk! 😎

Dawn (Now) Looks Like Dusk! 😎
First and foremost, this film is not as dark as what is shown in the description.Second, this is actually a good thing (for me) since my bedroom theater is now dark enough to use my 84" projector display without any added glare from the sun. (Any darker and it would be too depressing). In fact, when I first installed it, my girlfriend didn't readily notice. After waking up the following morning (post-installation), she asked me, "What time is it? Why does it feel so late in the day?"I responded... "It's only 11am 🤔."It wasn't until she roamed around the apartment several hours later when she finally realized I had 'tinted' the windows in my bedroom. That said... She actually thinks it's too dark. For my batcave, however, it's perfect 😎👌Honestly... Any darker and you might as well get blackout window film (which was not something I wanted). With this film, I can still see what's going on outside my window in the daytime, with added privacy. It also proved to be the perfect dimming solution for viewing my HD projector display during the day time.To get a better idea of what it looks like...I'd say it feels like a dark storm is coming. Even though it's sunny outside, it forever feels cloudy inside. It's definitely enough to fool your senses into believing it's much later in the day than it really is.)Dawn feels like early dusk; sunrise will feel more like sunset. For me, this is perfect, not only for watching movies, but to also zone out and study for long hours without being distracted with wanting to go out to play in the sun.Application tips:1) An old spray bottle with a few drops of dish detergent is all you need to make the film 'stick'.2) Make sure you scrub and scrape your windows clean before applying the film.3) Since I didn't have a squeegee, I used my dust pan (which had a rubber liner). Some say a credit card works, but I think something more squeegee like definitely will make your life easier and will help to smooth out the bubbles in one swipe.3) I used a 'scraper' with a razor blade to scape the window clean, and used the same razor to trim the excess film after applying.4) When you trim the excess, leave about 2-3 mm of excess; the window film will shrink a little after a day or so, so if you you trim too 'perfectly' you may windup with a small gap between the window film and the edge of the window.Honestly, the most important part of applying the film is to REALLY clean the window. Take time to clean the window frame as well, since ANY lingering dirt may seep between the film and the window -- causing it the bubble up.That said...I applied the film in the following steps:1) Measured and cut the film to fit the window. (Didn't worry much about excess).2) Scraped every inch of the window with a razor blade scraper.3) Washed the window and trimming with mild soapy solution (w/dish detergent).4) Scrapped again (for added measure).5) Sprayed window excessively with mild soapy solution.6) Squeegeed7) Sprayed the window with the soapy solution again.8) Applied the film.9) Sprayed the film (on window) with soapy solution.10) Sqeegeed to remove the bubbles.11) Trimmed the excess with razor blade.*I also placed an old towel on the bottom of window to catch all the excess water. That's it!For the price, I couldn't be happier.Although I would give this 4.5 stars for the misleading darker tint Shown in the description, I'll give it 5, since it served my purpose perfectly. Any darker would probably cause clinical depression (for me). That said, if you think you need something darker... you can always try doubling up (by layering it), or trying the 'blackout' film.Hope this helps with your purchase decision.Peace & Love 😎✌️
