Goaltending: Game On in Seattle (Seattle Sockeyes Book 4) Kindle Edition
Martin "Brick" Bricker is living the good life. He's playing the sport he loves, has all the women he can handle, and parties like a rock star. At twenty-six, he has no interest in slowing down or taking anything seriously —except hockey, of course. Then a knock at his door changes everything. Suddenly he's the single father to a five-year-old daughter he didn't know he had, and he's trading his playboy ways for Barbies.
Amelia Stacey struggles to make ends meet and juggles her day-care job with a full load of college classes. When she's offered a temporary, two-week nanny position making more money than she imagines, she jumps at the chance. Before she knows it, she's in over her head, not just with her five-year-old charge but with the girl's hot single father. Brick always goes after what he wants, and he wants Amelia. Only responsible Amelia doesn't want anything to do with the party boy.
Struggling with fatherhood and his unexplainable attraction to his nanny, Brick has to figure out where his daughter and Amelia fit into his life. If they fit at all. But one thing's for sure: Brick can't block this shot straight to his heart.

About the author

USA Today bestselling author Jami Davenport writes sexy contemporary, new adult, and sports romances, including Gone Missing, Seattle Sockeyes, The Scoring Series, and the Portland Icehawks. Jami's new releases consistently rank in the top fifty on the sports romance and sports genre lists on Amazon, and she has hit the Amazon top hundred authors list in both contemporary romance and genre fiction multiple times.
Jami lives on a small farm near Puget Sound with her Army Ranger-turned-plumber husband, a Newfoundland drool monster, and two demanding tabby cats.
Jami worked in IT for years and is also a former high school business teacher but recently achieved a life-long dream of being a full-time author. A horse lover since birth, Jami showed dressage horses for over thirty years. Now she gardens and goes glamping, along with other travelling adventures. She's a lifetime Seahawks and Mariners fan, a proud season ticket holder for the Seattle Kraken, and still misses her SuperSonics. An avid boater, Jami has spent countless hours in the San Juan Islands, a common setting in her books. In her opinion, it's the most beautiful place on earth.

Meet Martin "Brick" Bricker, 26, and starting goalie for the Seattle Sockeyes, an up and coming Hockey Team in the NHL. He leads a good life- so he thinks. He's a player- in sports and women. And bam now he's the father of a 5 year old girl.
And there is Amelia Stacey, she attends college and works a day-care job. She's had a hard life.
Now she's hired as Nanny for Bricks daughter.
Brick wants Amelia, like Wants her. But he doesn't do relationships, and she doesn't do meaningless ONS.
With these two people, two worlds collide. And then is there this little girl, who believes is all alone in the world.
My heart was bleeding for the girl. I liked the characters, I liked how they grow, and I liked the words. This book kept me well entertained and I give 4,5 Stars.
Thank you Jami Davenport.
Brick is the teams goaltender but he also is one of the teams playboys. Different women all the time, commitment phobe and just an all around good time guy. But what he never expects is to find standing on his doorstep is the most adorable little girl.
Amelia Stacey college student, daycare worker and a woman trying to move on from a past she is not proud of. But when Brick walks into the daycare her life changes in an instant.
Brick & Amelia have a common interest that is they both are taken with Macy. Amelia instantly, But Brick kicking and screaming. Can one little girl reach into their hearts and heal them both.
This story will pull on your heartstrings from the minute Macy shows up in the story. You will see the struggles that the three of them go through but you will also be cheering them on with every turn of the page. But the one thing is for sure is that this story will leave you not only with hope but with a smile on your face.
Amelia loves kids, she helps out at her sister in law’s day care, well technically her SIL owns it but Amelia does all the work. She is fairly convinced her dear SIL is cheating on her brother but lacking any solid evidence she just keeps her eyes open. Trying to figure out how to make some extra cash becomes a whole lot easier when a very sexy, albeit chauvinistic, man needs a live in nanny for 2 weeks.
Brick, Ameila and Macy fall very quickly into family mode though Brick still doubts he could be a decent father to his surprise daughter. It takes everything Amelia has to keep this sinking ship afloat. Can she finally convince Brick he has what it takes to take care of them both?
This was my first read by this author and overall it was pretty good. There were some times I felt the story fluffed a little but aside from Brick’s teenager hormone driven speeches sometimes, it flowed well. I will definitely check out the rest of the books in the Game On in Seattle series.
This is just an awesome book and at the end I wanted it to go on and on because I fell in love with the grown up Brick became and how he really stepped up with Macy...he became a good dad but he wasn't without his faults.
I was offered an ARC copy of this book for an honest review which I believe I have gave. This is not a typical hockey romance book and in some ways will surprise you...take the chance to read it and you will fall in love with this little family.

Even with a bad cold, I was captivated by Amelia and Martin story and if you add an adorable little Macy, it is a perfect book for a winter day.
Both has issues, Martin’s are more about self esteem and accepting he need to let his past and family errors drive his present and lock his future. While Amelia still struggles to get ends meet and recovers from a sad event and bad lover choice.
When Macy appears an afternoon on Martin’s porch, he is far from ready to be a father and need a nanny very fast to figure what will be his next move.
He just didn’t expected Macy and soon-to-be-hired Amelia will his world upside down.
But how to turn a partying player in father material and how a broken hearted woman open up again.
I love this dual POV story, seing Martin falling from Charybdis and Scylla, unable to make choices, his daughter or a party, Amelia or partying and the internal dialogues of Amelia, giving him icy stares when he failed them.
A very good read to recommend.
