The good:
Lays flat, has a bookmark ribbon, plenty of space for notes,
regular font size (compared to a normal book, not a bible, see picture: "ch. 13" that's a side by side font comparison to a mass market paperback)
The leather feels great and will hopefully keep better than some of the hardback bibles I've had in the past
The meh:
Has thinner paper than a regular book, but not terribly thin and transparent (I tried to show the amount of show through, but it's not terribly easy to see in real life and harder to see in the picture which is good. I only use a pencil and a "mr pen, sleek gel highlighter," which I use very lightly. If a pen were used for notes, it would likely show.) The pages are certainly thick enough to feel more normal and not like every misstep will leave a wrinkle.
The size is... interesting. It's squatter and thicker than I expected, almost square. I put it on a shelf with various books for a size comparison, (see especially the blue pew bible at its side and the red and white mass market paperbacks). I don't mind the size at all, just don't expect it to fit well under the chairs/pews at church, haha.
I'm not a fan of red lettering, but actually the red ink is a dark burgundy almost. So not terribly distracting or annoying.
I thought the single column text might be annoying, but after using it for a few months, I realized I like it WAY more than the double column ESV journaling bible I used to use. I don't have to use a superscript to coordinate my notes to the text, because writing near the verses is easy and efficient.
The bad:
If you travel a lot, save the box. I generally put books in a ziplock when travelling to keep the pages from getting smooshed/damaged by pens or something. This book (the leatherbound) is too flexible and warp-able to reasonably protect in that manner. Thankfully I kept the box, and I use that whenever I need to throw this in a backpack or luggage.
The cover is plain to the point of ugliness, which is my only real qualm. Blank leather, basically. The spine is no better. Bible and KJV are on the spine, but it gets lost in the ridiculous "Journal the Word" title. Really? The book is a KJV bible, all the company did was add some blank lines yet the title is 90% about the blank space?... dumb. I'm more a fan of the traditional bold HOLY BIBLE so there's no question what the book is at a distance--but maybe that's just me.
Conclusion:
I've version hopped over my walk with Christ, so I've had several different bibles of different kinds. Many hardbacks have broken down at the creases either due to overuse, tropical weather, missionary/military work and travel, what have you, so that I have a collection of duct-tape bibles.
Now that I've settled on my preferred version (KJV) this is the first bible I hope and expect to last for a long long time. Fingers crossed for this to be my last bible ever, depending on how it stands up to time.

I love the amount of space between the lines, the size of the print is big and easy to read, it is a little shorter than alot of Bibles so it fits on my lap more easily, and the cover is gorgeous! Also, when I take notes in pen or use highlighters, the ink doesn't leak through to the other side! SO HAPPY ABOUT THAT!
however:
It is a little heavier and thicker than some other Bibles, but I knew what I was getting, the paper is not super thick but is medium thick and still absorbs the writing very well.
I absolutely love it! Thank you for helping me improve my devotional time!
