This book should come with a disclaimer, don't start it if you don't commit to finishing it in one read. I was hooked from the beginning and Ms Havens has not let me down with this latest book. A super hot Cowboy with daddy issues, brains, takes care of his little sister, is protective and has a butt to die for in jeans, where can I sign up for one of those. As for Callie, a perfect partner for the sexy cowboy, I was up all night eager to see their relationship develop.
Highly recommend this story for anyone who wants to get lost with a sexy cowboy for a few hours.

You have to take a chance on what you really want...

Callie can't believe she's here, surrounded by iron bars. Yes, she wants to lay the blame at his feet, but she's taking responsibility for her actions and owning her part in it. She messed up. She had it all and threw it away. She deserved whatever was coming.

Quite a prologue, right? It just sucks you in and you have to know what the heck happened and hope it isn't as bad as it sounds. So, let's begin the journey...

Callie is reevaluating her decision to major in finance because she's discovered it bores her to tears. Unfortunately, that revelation came too late and now she's on academic probation. However, she apparently has the talent to be a writer, something she's always wanted to do, and it's recommended she join the highly sought after creative writing program. But she knows that could never happen as her grandparents, Edwin and Helen, have high expectations for her to take over the family business and she can't let risk disappointing them after all they've done for her. When she arrives home in Texas for summer break, she must act as though everything is perfect, the expectation she's spent her whole life trying to live up to.

Cole is blown away by Miss Perfect, err Callie. She's beautiful and completely off-limits as he's acting as temporary ranch foreman for her grandparents while his Uncle Charlie is recovering from his leg injury. His focus needs to remain on doing his job, helping his uncle, and taking care of his sister, Adina, aka Addy. As his past, and the possibility of having to return to that way of life with just one misstep, always looms as a threat in his mind, he is adamant to stick within his own boundaries.

Those boundaries are crumbling with each minute they spend in the other's company though. Their heated looks promise all kinds of naughty things they want to do to each other, but know they shouldn't. Unless, and this could just solve everything, a contract was made between the two, promising exclusivity, silence on anything that happens between them, either can end it at any time prior to the expiration date, and there is an expiration date. After the contract is signed, nothing can keep these two from touching in any way possible. Their chemistry is combustible and they can't get enough of each other, and feelings are developing fast. That wasn't part of the plan, but plans can be amended. Until someone interprets the connection between them they try to hide and threatens to tell Callie's very protective grandfather, Cole's boss.

When Callie, determined to save the man she loves any more trouble which will impact his sister, Addy, and his Uncle Charlie, lies and says things to Cole to push him away, therefore protecting him, she never thought her last night would end with her and her friend, Bethany, getting caught for public intoxication.

What happens next? Were Callie and Bethany arrested? Will Callie tell her grandparents the truth about school, about wanting to be a writer? Will their thoughts on Cole surprise her? How will Cole react upon learning Callie left? Will he tell Callie's grandpa how he feels about her? Will Cole and Callie admit they love each other? Will they give a future together a chance? Will Cole go back to school and achieve his dream job? Will Callie work toward her goal to become a writer? Will they get their HEA?

While I loathe when the "heroes" are players, manwhores, etc., and such was the case for Cole in this story, insomuch as he only did one-night stands, and apparently quite a few of them, I wasn't put off like I usually am due to the fact that it wasn't constantly referred to, nor were we ever subjected to seeing evidence to this fact. Yes, I would've preferred him not being portrayed this way, but as it wasn't something that was constantly thrown in my face, I was able to focus more on the actual story, on Cole and Callie as a couple, a believable one at that, and to become invested in them as one. Which, as readers know, that investment in the main characters is essential to truly enjoying the story. If his apparent vast experience had been continually remarked upon, I would have lost that investment a piece at a time with each subsequent mention. I'm thankful that wasn't the case here as I found the premise and the characters quite enjoyable and was able to feel the connection the author was building between Cole and Callie. Now, in my opinion at least, that takes talent and this author has it.

Being young and in love is one of those things that you dream about. Finding the perfect person. Searching and searching everywhere so you can find that happily ever after. What happens if it just falls right into you? I think how this book started was a dose of reality of sorts for Callie. Callie seems to think she has it all, but when she fails finance, she doesn't know what she is going to do. Callie seems so put together, but in reality she is trying to keep the pieces together. What saves her is going home for the summer and seeing her grandparents. What she doesn't expect is everything else that follows. Callie is your typical college student, only difference she has money. She doesn't flaunt it or anything like that, but she has to live up to the expectation of her grandparents and for her that stresses her out. She doesn't want that, but she plays along so they are happy. So when that dose of reality of failing hits home, she tries everything to fix it. Callie is one of the most likable people in all the books I have read. She has a heart of gold, she really doesn't do anything wrong and she loves fully. So when she trips into Cole on her first encounter all bets are off. She finds something she wants and that is Cole. Problem is Cole thinks of her as off limits. He is not going to touch her, he just has too much personal stuff going on. So when a contract is made, well lets just say it gets a little more promising for them. Cole is a family guy he is going to protect his family no matter what. What Cole doesn't realize is that Callie might be the one thing that makes him decide to take a leap. I loved Cole throughout this book, yes he could be a jerk at times, but I could see why. Protecting him and his sister was hard especially when you are falling for the boss's grand daughter.

This book gives you everything that you need. The romance, the family values, the drama,that comes with a story like this. Its a very fast paced book and you can read it in a few hours. It keeps you interested all the way through and the characters are what you fall in love with. It is a great way to enjoy your afternoon waiting for you kids to get home or just to relax. The writing is relaxing and you will enjoy everything that this book gives you. I hope to read more from this author because this was one of those books that I got my college romance, my cowboy, and a great story all in one.
