This is the first book in Sherry Ewing's new Family of Worth series, a beautifully written period romance.
We are whisked off to a time (the 1800's) when a debt would be paid by a dutiful daughter marrying a wealthy old widow, in this case Gwendolyn, who has been betrothed to the bitter and cruel Lord Sandlehurst. Stuck in a loveless marriage Gwen begins to give up on herself until the young, virile, handsome Lord Drayton appears on the scene as a work associate of her brothers.
Lord Neville Quinn, Earl of Drayton is taken with Gwen pretty much from the get go but as would be expected during this era a conventional romance between a married woman and a slightly roguish Earl would be almost taboo! as the story unfolds we feel the obvious connection between the two, which is entirely encouraged by Gwendolyn's brother Brandon.

You'll get no spoilers from me but if you are a romantic at heart and have enjoyed Sherry's time travel series then I would highly recommend this book to you. Once again a story that will make you want to curl up in a comfy chair next to a roaring fire and read from beginning to end.
Congratulations Sherry Ewing, another super read.

A fast paced love affair! Lady Gwendolyn Worthington must marry a man as old as her father. Lord Sandhurst is a true nightmare. He blackmailed Gwen's father into giving Gwen to him in marriage. He husbands finds her and kidnaps her onto his ship. He becomes ill and Gwen makes the decision to order the ship home where her life changes forever. Will Neville find and wait for her or is she destined to be unhappy forever? A true Sherry Ewing classic.
