Declaration of love

My first declaration of love goes to Hendy. No explanation necessary. My second declaration of love goes to Dr. Presley Cole. Holy hot strong woman. I want to be you when I grow up. And my third declaration of love goes to the amazeballs RC Boldt whose books i can't seem to get enough of. If you're looking for an epic romance then stop right here, because this is the book for you!

I knew I was going to love Hendy when I read Out Of Love (Book #1) but you know, I just didn't expect this. I actually had no words after I've finished this book and even now I struggle with finding the right ones. But you know what? I think it's not always necessary to write a ton of words especially when you love a book so much that you tend to rave about it without making much sense to people that haven't read the book yet.
So I'll just say a few things and hope you will pick up this book because it's one of my favorites from this author and definitely a must re-read for me.

The Story:
Hendy and his team got ambushed. He was the only one to survive just to get captured and tortured.
Now he's been rescued but that doesn't necessarily mean that he is fine or safe from his demons. Because Hendy had always been the pretty boy and it had never lacked him in female company. It's all the more harder for him now to deal with the visible scares on his body but also with the invisible ones – his emotions and memories of what happened.

Dr. Presley Cole knows she can help Hendy despite people saying that chiropractors or naturopathic doctors aren't real doctors. Turns out though, that she can help him in more ways than what he signed up for at her office. But is Hendy ready for it?

Thoughts:
This was my third book by this author and although I loved the other ones too, this one's so far the best.
I absolutely loved reading about Hendy's way to recovery which wasn't easy - neither for him nor for me. I was deeply moved by a few things written in this book but I can't mention them as to not spoil anything.

This book made me laugh a lot of times but it also brought me to tears with the depth and meaning behind this story. At least that's what I think, that there's a message for each and every one. Enjoy life. Try your best to deal with whatever life throws at you. Love with all you have to give and be thankful.

I'm such a sappy person. There are sadder books out there but I just got so emotional with Hendy's story. I live in a country where we don't have Navy Seals or any real kind of military. We would so go down when it'd come down to it. Anyway, I might not be American but I still am human and deeply grateful for those that save people and risk their own lives for others. And I'm a romantic and love any kind of heroes =)

Sorry for my rambling, back to the book...

The romance in this story was more like a slow burn which was understandable because of Hendy’s situation but there was still lots of sexual tension and I absolutely loved it!! Especially Hendy's most perfect answer to the question if he's ever been in love. *sigh* Curious?! Read the book!! =P

Lucia added some quirkiness into the lot and you might not believe it but Kane had some really deep moments and was a great help for Hendy. I can't wait for Kane to have his own story. I hope at least he gets one because I'm sure it will be hilarious.

Out of the Ashes can be read as a standalone. However I'd say you better read Out of Love first because not just is it a really good book, but you'll also get to know some characters better which will also appear in this book.

Another amazing, touching, kick@ss book by R.C. Boldt.

My most favorite part about reading one of R.C. Boldt's books is that at the end of the day it always comes down to family and how they have each other's back no matter what. Blood relation or not...it doesn't matter. My heart broken for Hendy. I personally have no idea the pain and suffering he went through but the emotions that R.C. Boldt put forth in Out Of The Ashes made you feel like you were right there and just wanted to give the big guy a freaking hug.

Hendy, after returning from being held captive for a year, is trying to adjust to his new "life" and the battle wounds that he carries with him. He feels like he is less of a man because of the scars that he bears. He truly doesn't know how to adjust and isn't really living life to its fullest. Then enters Presley. Oh sweet not so innocent Presley. There is a dirty girl in there waiting to break free but she has been held back by her parents and fiancé.

When Presley and Hendy meet there is a definite attraction between the two. One doesn't think he is worthy enough of someone's love and the other is "stuck" in a relationship. A friendship is formed and the two become close. When Presley becomes single Presley and Hendy become more. The Sex is hot. The Friendship that continues to grow is hotter and I was left needed more. With all relationships times become hard and decisions have to be made. My heart was torn for both Presley and Hendy. No more words can be said. I don't want to give away too much.

I can't say enough how much I truly loved this book. I read it in a day. If I didn't need sleep it would have been devoured in hours. R.C. Boldt has yet to disappoint me with a book and Out Of The Ashes is a 5+ Star read. Definitely pick up your copy today!

What an amazing book and beautifully written!
I loved it and RC Boldt's style of writing.
Hendy and Presley are amazing characters, he's been captured, tortured and left traumatised and she's the lady who makes a difference through her work. The attraction is obvious and very well played. Even the peripheral characters stand out but totally enhance the story. It was a pleasure to read and I look forward to reading more by this author.

Out of the Ashes is such a fantastic story that you'll laugh, cry and cheer on Handy as he recovers from being a hostage to becoming the man who accepts himself as he now is. It will be a long and hard road but his friends Foster, Kane, Heath, Presley and his dog Izzy will be there to help him. I also loved how Jeopardy trivia was included in the story!

Cristiano “Hendy” Hendrixson was a Navy Seal whose team was shot down killing the crew but he was taken prisoners and tortured for info on his father who he never knew. He was finally rescued and recovered as best as he could but he still has a lot of pain (He didn't like pain meds) so a chiropractor was recommended to see if it could help. After one treatment at Presley's they felt an attraction to each other, but he saw her ring so that makes her off limits. There is a back story with a mystery woman, lovely Lucia Presley's massage therapist and Kane is trying to get her to go out with him. But Hendy's story is truly a phoenix rising from the ashes and with the love of Presley he'll accept himself as he now is.

Presley Cole is realizing that her fiance is only interested in her parents and becoming partner in his firm. But when she finds out he's getting some on the side, she puts an end to it quickly. When she meets Hendy in her exam room, she sees him not with his scars but as the beautiful person he'll be when he accepts himself completely.

I cannot wait for the next book hopefully it will be Kane and Lucia's book until then I'll try to be patient.
