I roast the entire bag on baking sheets in the oven throughout the day and once cooled they are delicious; Smokey, crisp, and flavorful! Sometimes I spray a little olive oil and sprinkle a small bit of salt but honestly they don’t need anything but roasting! I buy them over and over and give jars of them as gifts. I purchased four different companies' bags of raw almonds in order to find the best one. Two were on Amazon. This particular product purchased from Bayside Candy was the most disappointing. The nuts were not fresh and that greatly compromised the flavor. I have never seen such hard, dried out almonds. Consequently, we decided to stop trying to eat them raw. My wife roasted a couple of pounds. They had so little almond flavor that roasting was also not an enticing option. So then she baked with them. Those results were equally disappointing. We tried to make the best of it but without any success. However, it must be said that our dog loved them raw, roasted or baked. But you will be much more discriminating and harder to please.

I do not understand why my experiences are so different from many other others here. It could be an indication of poor quality control or inadvertently selling nuts stored too long in the wrong conditions. The "Use by Date" for these is September 2017. That is a half year less than almonds that did taste fresh. I am not sure comparing these dates is the most helpful indicator. These nuts were sold well past any reasonable date due to their poor condition and quality. In any case, I can't recommend this product. Save your money.
