Brenda Ellis is the author and illustrator of the ARTistic Pursuits art curriculum for children, which has become a staple in the homeschool community when it comes to teaching the subject of art. Brenda uses a conversational style of writing that appeals to children, yet challenges and motivates them to create. ARTistic Pursuits has won a plethora of awards in the homeschooling community, including the Practical Homeschooling Reader Awards, Favorite Fine Arts Product from the Homeschool Crew, Excellence in Education awards, and Cathy Duffy’s 101 and 102 Top Picks. Brenda and her husband, Dan, credit a lifetime of conversations, not to mention a combined 30 years of art teaching experience, to the program’s success. As graduates of the Kansas City Art Institute, they walked and talked their way through the subject of art and through the streets of Kansas City and on to Denver, where they now reside.
