I did my homework and aimed at Corsair K65 RGB, Cherry MX Speed. But this Logitech piece was 55% off, I couldn't let it pass. Although, there are a lot of bad reviews about the Romer-G switch, I want to see what the fuss is all about. So here we go.
Lightning effects are amazing. It's love at first sight. I don't like the whole leaking lightning like other mechanical keyboards, it's quite distracting to say the least. This one shines up through their own key caps, and bright in the dark. Their Logitech Gaming Software is super easy to use. I can set up different profiles for various applications and games.
The key caps are made of high quality materials, matte finish, with the coating that prevent fingerprints and sweat. Which is something I love since I sweat sometimes. So switching to this one feels very pleasant to the touch. Tenkeyless feature is also a must for small desks, or you just want more room for everything else.
To my surprise, I love the Romer-G switch. And that's purely a personal preference. I see where people are coming from when they prefer the Cherry MX more. I use both and they're like day and night. You can't compare them when they're far different frome each other.
The Cherry MX sounds very good to be honest, I do miss them. This one sounds weird for the lack of better words. It has some spring feel/sound to it. You're not supposed to bottom out because the keys are very responsive and bounce back pretty fast, which is great for gaming and fast typing. It is quieter than Cherry MX Brown. The tactile bump is less noticeable. So it would take sometime getting used to not bottom out and use less force.
Things aren't perfect when you look at the body. It's overly designed for sure, but for professional gamers. Hence the weird left handle for gamers to carry their keyboard around. The attachable wrist rest is only on the left side. The body is of plastic, but it has some weight and very sturdy. I'm a casual gamer, so I don't use the Arx Control, but consider it as a free phone stand. Lol.
One word of caution. I specifically bought this keyboard because it does not have a numberpad. I needed a narrow keyboard, but I can't deal with miniature keys. So, for me, this keyboard is fantastic. However, the numberpad is one of those things that you don't really appreciate until you don't have it. Although convenient in terms of space, this keyboard may not be the best choice for someone that actually uses the numberpad on their current keyboard with any degree of regularity. But that is my only complaint - and when you are looking for a keyboard without a numberpad, it's not even a consideration. For people used to laptops, this won't matter either.
Overall, I like the feel of the keys, and the RGB-lighting with no back-light spill is the best there is on the market (I can't stand light spilling--it distracts from the readability of the legends), and the software is very easy to use (one of logitech's strengths).
The cheap feel of the plastic frame (it flexes) is what you'd expect from a product targeted at gamers instead of serious mechanical keyboard enthusiasts, but I generally don't mind it when the frame has some flex, because let's be honest--why would anyone sit there and try to bend the frame for no reason? You type on it, not wrestle with it.
With that said, I do have one major gripe about this keyboard, and it's that idiotic angled wrist rest. It is completely useless because your wrist can't even actually rest on it. It only reaches to about halfway of your palm, so how the hell can it be a wrist rest? It's not even a hand rest. This "gamer aesthetic" BS is just so pointless and silly, and I hate it with a passion. I don't mind when it's actually ergonomic and functional, but when it's done for useless or obtrusive visual flare, it pisses me off. If Logitech had kept the frame a simple and slim rectangle with no unnecessary width that takes up precious desk space (or get in the way of a REAL wrist rest, such as the foam ones I use. I ended up having to cut into the front edge of the foam wrist rest so I can push the G410's stupid protruding "fake wrist rest" about an inch and half into the foam so the keyboard can be in optimal typing position relative to my arms), then this keyboard would be just about perfect. But as it is, the ludicrous "wrist rest" ruins this keyboard and I have to deduct two stars for that.
What Logitech needs to do, is release a TKL (Tenkeyless) version of the G810, which has a normal looking frame, but unfortunately is a full-size keyboard, which means the numpad on the right will offset the center of your home-row while typing, as well as push your mouse too far to the right. This "standard" layout is also idiotic because vast majority of the population are right-handed. Ironically, "left-handed" keyboards are actually ergonomically far superior to standard keyboards, because the numpad is on the left side. But Tenkeyless is the best solution right now, since you can just add a standalone numpad to the left of the keyboard.

Using the keyboard for more than a month on Win 10 Pro.
It replaced a G710+, not because the other one was bad, but because it was too wide.
Work desk only has that much room and the 710+ made me sit awkwardly sideways.
This keyboard is perfect, VERY comfortable keys, even after typing all day, no issues due to the keys.
My fears before using this:
- Romer G keys, are they comfortable, silent and precise enough?
I was a bit afraid the Romer G would not be as precise than the MX Brown of the G710+, or maybe louder
> No problem whatsoever. Very silent, VERY precise keys.
- My next fear was I may really miss the ten key pad.
> Not so, actually noticed I only ever used the enter key on the ten key block, but your mileage may vary.
- I thought too, the color feature would just be a gimmick and I'd set it to just plain white
> I was wrong again, I gave specific parts of the KBD like characters, number keys, special keys different colors and it is amazing. The colors are very vibrant and easily adjustable via the software. The photo sadly does not do the colors any justice.
BY the way, this is my first keyboard that did a firmware update when I plugged it in, by the way.
The Romer G keys plus the nice color-coded keypad and the now normal sitting position clearly improved my typing a lot, becomes very obvious when coding, much less to edit.
Would buy again and suggest to friends as well.
I highly recommend to buy this over others in this price range.
I'm taking off a star for the limited options for keycap replacements (existing keycaps aren't the best) and the fact that it's lacking a metal backplate. I don't think the aesthetics of the keyboard is worth docking a star over, but there are many people who would say otherwise. That's not to say this is a bad keyboard at all - as far as a typing experience goes, this is actually quite good. The backlighting is absolutely amazing and the software is fairly intutive. Being someone with a light typing touch, I also love the feel of Romer-G switches, both for typing and gaming on a daily basis. They are relatively quiet, they have a very light tactile bump and they have a short actuation distance, which are all great for my needs and preferences.
However, be warned that Romer-G keyswitches are not for everyone. If you're a typer who prefers a smooth actuation on your keyswitches, you probably won't be happy with the subtle tactile bump of any Romer-G switch. If you're someone who wants a distinct tactile bump like what you would have on a keyboard using Cherry MX Brown switches, chances are you're not going to be happy with this keyboard because the tactile bump is extremely subtle. If you're someone who expects keyboards to have a mechanical-sounding click-clack, you're not gong to like Romer-G keyboards either because Romer-G switches are quiet and sound more similar to a membrane keyboard than a keyboard with Cherry MX switches. In general, if you're someone who likes to bottom out keys as you press them, you will probably find that doing so on this keyboard will result in a mushy, unsatisfying feeling. Romer-G switches are like black coffee - it can be good in its own way, but if you're used to something else and aren't willing to adjust your typing style to take advantage of the Romer-G switches' short actuation and subtle tactile bump, you probably won't be too happy with this keyboard.
But for me? I'm very happy with my purchase.
