We use these bags for lots of things and not just food storage, although that's their main purpose.
They are good, but not great at keeping stuff sealed up and tidy after the original package fails, like for cold-cuts, chips, etc. The only complaint that I'd have, if I had to think of one, is that it doesn't block odors that great when the food being stored has a strong odor -- like onions. For onions, I always use two bags and that works pretty well.
What else is there to say. You can use these for your liquids when you go through TSA -- done that several times now without any cavity searches yet. Also, I've tried filling these up with water and freezing them to make cold-packs. It doesn't work. Maybe with the freezer variety, but still, you might make a mess.

Repeat Buyer! We have been using Hefty Slider Freezer Bags for awhile now! It is just one of those brand items that we stick with. My husband has nerve damage in his hand and often has difficulty opening and closing other brands. So this may be good for you or think about elderly parents. They slide shut with ease. A little click and they remain airtight. They are great for the freezer! No freezer burn! They are reliable - no leaking! I am a repeat buyer and I will continue to do so! But wait, it's not all good as they are there is a design problem with these bags and Hefty should fix it. The end where the slide rests when closed can split easily when the top is open. Not good and it's happens to me maybe 10% of the time. Because of this I've learned to be very careful when using these freezer bags. Again, this is a design problem that Hefty needs to fix!
Except for the splitting problem (only when I'm not careful) I like these bags very much. They are the right size for 90%+ of what I want them for. The zip-lock slide design is very easy to operate and I like that very much. But the bag splitting is enough of a problem to knock 1 star off for me. So this is only a 4 star bag for me. I'll still use them but wish Hefty would fix the design issue and stop the splits.
