Target by L.P. Dover is her second book in her newest series, Circle of Justice. A series of stand-alone books that are better enjoyed as a series but can also be enjoyed separately. In this installment we get to meet Wade Chandler and Brina Carmichael. He is one of the sons of a founding member of the Circle Of Justice team and she is the president's daughter.

While much of this story was your normal and very enjoyable meeting of two people, their hookup and then business partenership which then again turned into a hook up there is also so much unexpectedness that takes place that, mixed in with all the normal, creates some very wonderful twists to this tale. As always, well-written and well-paced by one of my must-read authors, this leaves me jones-ing for the next book in the series already. Enjoy!

This story had a ton of potential. Good plotline, the right amount of suspense, secrets to hold, a bit of steam to go along with it. I went into this book not knowing this was both part of a series, and not the first book. That may or may not have impacted how I felt about the lead characters and that there was no easing into transitions. My issue was really how the story moved from one space to the next. I feel like it was being told well, then BAM, new direction. There wasn’t any easing into it. They were doing and saying one thing, and then suddenly it was something else. Wade and Brina were making a business plan, then a one-night stand. Then they made some appearances to save face, and then they were in love. They weren’t ever telling each other their secret…and then they did. There was just a bit too much change in direction for me to make things flow how I would like them to. I did take interest in the secondary characters; I think the author did a great job tying the others into this story to spark interest in the rest of the series.

Since I’m a fan of romantic suspense, I'd give the other books in this series a try to see how things play out.

Target is the second book in the Circle Of Justice series by L P Dover and I have to say that it's every bit as good as the first. This book focuses on Wade Chandler (COJ member) and his childhood friend (who he hasn't seen in years), former President of the US' daughter and the serving President's sister Brina Carmichael. They are great characters, the story line is excellent, thrilling, sexy, with a bit of suspense throughout. However they each have a secret, but how will they react when the others secret is revealed? This is a rollercoaster of a ride and I highly recommend it you won't be disappointed.

Target is the second book in the Circle of Justice Series by L.P. Dover, and is a complete stand-alone. I was hooked on this book from beginning to end, and wasn't quite sure what to expect with Wade and Brina, and was pleasantly surprised with how this story went!

The prologue of this book shows us Brina watching her father killed, flash forward 13 years later and she's trying to stay out of the spotlight as the former first daughter, but that's hard as the sister of the current president, and always having a target on her back. With her business in trouble, her mother suggests getting a hold of Wade Chandler and a chance meeting at the White House 4th of July party sparks things up between these two. Wade is at the party to help take out a target that's there to get the president, and is enamored by Brina, and things on his mission don't necessarily go as planned, and an amazing sexy and suspenseful story starts!

Watching these two dance around each other and all the secrets they have kept me attached to my Kindle throughout the night to finish this book. Just when you think you've figured everything out, L.P. Dover will through you for a loop. I didn't see some of the plot twists coming in this book, and I was happy about that. Sure there were some things in this book that were expected and you could see coming, but others I definitely didn't see coming and that made this book even better. When an author can surprise you and still keep you loving the characters and the story, that's when you know you have an amazing book. I adored these characters and even the secondary characters in Josh and Trinity. They helped shape this book and I loved them as well!

The connection between Wade and Brina was undeniable and even when you think they shouldn't be together, everything inside of them is saying they should. You'll need to read this book to see how well they belong together and all the chemistry that they share! The suspense, the who-done-it's and all the twists and turns will keep you hooked! The only thing I wasn't thrilled about is I felt that the last few chapters were a bit too rushed after all the build up in this book. Other than that this was a beautifully written story and I can't wait for more books in the Circle of Justice Series!
