About the author
Tijan is a New York Times Bestselling author that writes suspenseful and unpredictable novels. Her characters are strong, intense, and gut-wrenchingly real with a little bit of sass on the side. Tijan began writing later in life and once she started, she was hooked. She’s written multi-bestsellers including the Carter Reed Series, the Fallen Crest Series, and Ryan's Bed among others. She is currently writing to her heart's content in north Minnesota with an English Cocker Spaniel she adores.

I'm glad Sam said all those things to Analise. She deserved it and at least in one version of this story Sam stands up to her and tells her how it is. She not only tore her daughter's world apart but screwed up someone else's family. I feel like she got off too easy in the original version for come reason. This may sound harsh, but for all shes done, she deserves to see everything she wants right in front of her everyday and know that she'll never have it.
Also I liked that Sam ends up living with David and Malinda in this version as well. She needs a parental figure in her life and someone to show her not all mothers are like her own and capable of loving their children. I'm not sure I trust David yet for all the times hes let her down but I think eventually their relationship will be better.
The whole 'love triangle' thing was handled with absolute brilliance in my opinion. Finally there is a book that gives something different. Since when did 'loving' two people(far less brothers) become normal and accepted. I'm so happy it didn't turn out to be a 'Oh I suddenly realise that although I'm in love Mason I'm love his brother too. What should I do? Who should I choose?' book b/c I feel like this book is so much more than a "love" story. Its about family, loyalty and trust.
I'm not sure what to think of Sam and the whole becoming apart of the academy elite thing. I feel like it kind of contradicts the first book. I couldn't understand why she put up with them so much. And Miranda........honestly, I wish Sam had gotten at least ONE hit in!! lol. I really don't like Becky. Shes like the less confident version of Lydia- a disloyal, untrusting beach ball. And how could she just break up with Rex?? He was awesome!!! lol
So although this was the alterno version, I still loved it and am glad Tijan shared it. I like the 'HEA' ending in this book but it kind of left me unsettled. In the real version I'd like to see a happy ending for Logan with someone who he can truly call his own and I hope its someone worthy and to solve the mystery that is Nate Monson. His character seems a bit dodgy at times :/ And of course....... a Sam Mason HEA!! Lol
But I trust Tijan and will leave the awesome story writing up to her. Can't wait till FFD is released!! and I'm deffinately looking forward to reading more from her in the future xx
BUT the author scrapped this for a reason. I love the fact that Tijan was just awesome enough to put this out for us because I'm always looking for new scenes that I haven't read on her FB page and I liked reading more on Sam, Mason, and Logan. Being that I didn't really like the way some of the characters acted, it's just easier to read because it doesn't deter from the scenes that really happened in books 2 and 3 in the Fallen Crest series. In a way, reading this made me love the characters even more because it shows how Tijan could've made the characters one way but ended up making them better like Sam being tougher and stuff.
There were some scenes I liked. Like the scene with Sam and Helen at the basketball game. And I liked some scenes with Sam and Garrett. And I sort of liked the scene towards the ending with Sam and Logan, although I hope it doesn't really happen like that in the actual story because I want Sam to be with both Kades :/ Though I don't know if that will happen I do think she deserves both after the s***ty way everyone effing treats her (minus Heather) I also liked that there wasn't a lot of Analise lol. bc that B is crazy.
Anyways, now I can't wait for fallen fourth down.
she has a good relationship with Garrett
she is in the elite group
the tomboy princesses don't hate her
she's not a Mason's school
Becky has a boyfriend.
there was so much drama going on in this book. there were fights, drinking, breaking up, choosing sides, and making unexpected friends. I think Tijan did an amazing job with this book. there were some things that I wished had happened and some things I'm glad they didn't happen. I recommend this book for people who enjoy the Fallen Crest series and want to see a different side of the books.

A friend recommended this alternative version of book 2. She loved the first book and was not satisfied how things went on in the second book. She told me she never finished it because she found the developments very strange. When Tijan decided to publish an alternative version, she read this instead and told me to do the same because in her opinion it was much better. So I skipped "Fallen Crest Family" but I might give it a try later on because I'm curious to compare the two versions.
I really like Sam but I was not happy with some of her decisions. For one, I never liked Adam and it was clear he has his own agenda and is - as Mason put it - not a nice boy. Becky still annoyed me and it made me really angry that she never grew a backbone and told Adam to go to hell. I liked this Rex guy she met and dated. To break up with him just because of Adam even though she realized long ago that Adam will never love her back and just uses her, made me very angry. I really hope Adam gets what he deserves some time in the future! Sam is not into you, so back off!!!
Then there is this Elite group on Sam's school. It is so obvious that the girls hate her guts. I never got why she had them over for a party at Garrett's house? Especially after the fight with Cass and Amelia?!? Huh.. Peter seems like a lifeless puppet without any emotion, switching from Miranda to Cassandra and back again?! You got to be kidding me.. And Miranda - first an outcast, laughed at by her old friends but she still stuck to them and took whatever crumb they threw at her? The only one I really liked was Mark but in the end he seems to have no backbone either even though he might be Sam's future stepbrother. Nice! And don't let me begin with the Fab Four girls from Mason's high school. The cheap counterpart to the Academy Elite. I am really curious what happens in the next book when Sam transfers to Fallen Crest Public. I guess I have to prepare for more drama :-) Bring it on, Tijan! Love this series..
Read it , seriously you won't be disappointed !
Loved reading more of Sam, Mason & Logan!
*WARNING!! This contains some spoilers!! *
There were some parts in this book I really loved (eg Sam having more of a relationship of sorts with her bio Dad; moving in with David when she turned 18) and other parts that were just so interesting as it was different (not better or worse) than the other books.
All in all, an amazing book!
