Walt Disney always loved to entertain people. Often it got him into trouble. Once he painted pictures with tar on the side of his family's white house. His family was poor, and the happiest time of his childhood was spent living on a farm in Missouri. His affection for small-town life is reflected in Disneyland Main Streets around the world. With black-and-white illustrations throughout, this biography reveals the man behind the magic.

We gave this book as a gift and it was a big hit! She said she lived the book! I think we will be buying more of these to give as gifts. We really like giving educational gifts and this was a big hit. It is an easy read and very informative. I would recommend this book. It is a great read for any age. I am going to check out other books from this author because I really thought it is very well written. This book had so many wonderful facts that our young I've wasn't aware if before she read the book. Now she can tell us all about Walt Disney. Maybe we should plan a trip to Disney World soon! I love Disney and these facts are true and a fun read. This book is a keeper. I think keeping this book in our home library is a must. I feel all of the kids will enjoy this one. Boys and girls a like will get so much out if this book. The kids all know a Disney movie so I am glad they got a chance to know the man who made the movies happen through this book. It is one that is hard to put down.

Loved it! Got it yesterday and read it to my 6 year old grandson that afternoon! It isn't necessarily a storybook for really young children but our family had been to WDW last summer with all of our grandkids. He was so excited to have me read the story to him yesterday! It was very educational and he enjoyed learning about the man who created the wonderful cartoon characters and Disney theme parks that todays children of all ages love!

These books are great for kids who really don’t want to read ... like my very active 10 year old. The only con is that there is a lot of pictures and large font .... it is really best for an 8 year old average reader. Over all totally worth the price.

I have been looking for a book series to inspire my 3rd grader grandson to want to read more and when he needed to do a biography book report for school I stumbled upon this book about Walt Disney since he loves Disneyland. I watched his eyes light up with recognition when reading about things he could actually relate to - Walt loved trains - so that was why there are trains at the park, etc. He loved reading about how Mickey Mouse came to be and why he is called Mickey and not Mortimer! It was just the right difficulty level for him - not too basic but didn't overwhelm him. We have already ordered the Jim Henson book and plan to work our way through many of the books over the summer.

Great biography. Loved how it told Walt's story in a uncomplicated and interesting way. I also liked the illustrations in the book

3.0 out of 5 stars Billig in Preis aber auch Inhalt
Reviewed in Germany on February 7, 2019
