Engineered with innovative safety and convenience features, the NextFit is the easiest convertible car seat to install accurately and securely. The exclusive ReclineSure 9-position Leveling System provides the most recline options to accommodate a wider range of vehicles, and the SuperCinch LATCH tightener uses force-multiplying technology to help achieve a SUPER tight and secure vehicle fit with a fraction of the effort! NextFit Zip's exclusive Zip & Wash seat pad detaches easily from shell for convenient machine washing. NextFit Zip also features ComfortFlex Harness Management with padding and flex-out technology that holds both sides of the waistbelt up and out of the way during loading/unloading and keeps them in the right spot once baby is ready to be buckled! Disappointing
Overall, this is not a great car seat. It takes a lot of effort to install using the seat belt and the harness straps are also very hard to pull tight. Throw in the fact that the adjuster strap button broke and this thing is not worth the price. Chicco sent a new car seat under a warranty claim, but I had to cut the latch straps before they would do so.

This is the best baby seat ever! I chose it because Consumer Reports rated it so highly, the Zip feature made cleaning easier and the blue color matched my upholstery nicely while making my little girl's outfits stand out. I had been using the BabyTrend Range travel system, and we still love the stroller, but at 15 months, an infant seat (the 'baby bucket' you can click onto a base LATCH'd to the car seat,) was really getting too small for her. If I had it to do over, I'd just have bought this one from the get-go for our minivan and used the baby-bucket one for the little two-door hatchback my husband used to drive, where getting a baby into a LATCH'd-in seat was not exactly easy. Getting a child into this, rear-facing, in, say, a Scion iQ or a Toyota Yaris three-door, would be an absolute nightmare for most parents, but in a four-door hatch or sedan, it's easy!

(And yes, my husband sold his car and bought a larger one purely to keep our little girl in rear-facing seats longer. Safety engineers are just like that.)

It came with a soft insert for very tiny babies, and based on the little doll we got our daughter that's exactly the size she was when she came home from the NICU, this would even be a fine choice for preemies. I especially love the adjustable recline feature. We can adjust the seat to a more relaxed position when the road trip is getting long, so our baby sleeps, and she quite likes it when we sit her more upright to look at things. I think her favorite features are the padded straps (no more pinches or red marks!) and the insulated cupholder. Mine is the crash-test rating and the zip-out liner, as well as the easy-to-clean fabric. And my husband loves how easy the straps are to adjust. It's so intuitive, even grandparents who remember late-1980s seats and bachelor uncles who wouldn't know a safety seat if Danica Patrick were inside can get a toddler strapped in safely. The dual-position chest clip is especially well designed.

It's pricy, sure, and it's a big seat, but if you can afford to give your baby the best (or have generous, safety-obsessed relatives watching your registry like hawks,) this is definitely the seat to buy. It is safety engineer dad tested and cuddly NICU-graduate toddler approved!

I spent nearly three weeks looking for the perfect car seat! This is it! The 9 recline positions are a must have! My five month old daughter can almost sit up but not quite and the other car seats that we tried all made her head bob forward. This is perfect for the younger babies with the ability to adjust with less recline as they grow. It's extremely sturdy and fits amazing in a 2013 Toyota Sienna! The fabric is silky and very soft. I bought the one with the zip off for easy wash which seems like a nice feature however I have not had to use that yet. The easy latch system is as simple as installing clipping and following the 1,2,3 instructions. The chest latch has two different setting one for little babies and another for older kids. With this seat you don't have to rethread the shoulder straps and its adjusted by a lever you pull on the top. Easy, Amazing and Safe Safe Safe seat! I was giving myself a headache trying to find the perfect seat so do yourself a favor and get this! 🎉🎉

We had the chicco keyfit 30 and I was pretty sure we were going to stick with this brand, given the great quality and high safety ratings. We did shop around and sat our daughter in a few other, highly rated options. We still stick with the nextfit and love it. It is heavy and bulky, but our daughter is very comfortable and happy in it.

UPDATE: We flew on a (Southwest) 737 airplane and nervously decided to bring this car seat along for our child to use in flight. We couldn't find any useful info online, or even calling airline, regarding whether this would fit on the plane. We couldn't even get decent advice from friends because most people gate check these bulky seats. Or they purchase a lighter weight car seat. Rear facing, we could just fit this in her seat on her normal reclining angle (the most upright recommended for rear facing or perhaps one click less upright from there). Forward facing would have been fine.

We actually sat this car seat in our BOB revolution flex stroller and used the safety straps that came with the BOB/Chicco keyfit 30 adapter bracket. You could easily secure the car seat with a bungee cord if you didn't have those straps. Our child was able to ride in the car seat on the stroller in the airport and then we just gate checked the stroller. It was a pretty easy setup, given how heavy and bulky the car seat is. I am glad I didn't waste money and time buying a second, lighter convertible seat and I'm glad we tried this out. I wish we had known how easy it would have been. It should be noted that I am sure this would be a very tight - if not impossible - fit on a very small plane. But it would probably work forward facing in a pinch.

I love this seat...however my son some how found a random piece of plastic that was in the bottom of his seat. The plastic piece is the same plastic that allows the clips to stay open so you don't have to get them from underneath the child. On my seat this plastic is completely sown in properly however somehow during manufacturing a small piece must have got left behind. Thank god I saw he had something in his mouth! I am contacting Chicco to let them know what happened. I am very disappointed because I just spent $700 on two of these seats to keep my children safe! I should have to worry about them choking on something.
