From the manufacturer

About us

We continue to challenge with the originality and the creativity in order to keep offering the tools of the high cutting quality to lead to the high satisfaction and deep impression.

Evere since the establishment in 1876, ARS has always been tackling the innovation of producing the new tools.

The first initiative succession was in the development of pruner which was light and easy to handle. This was produced in different methods by separating the cutting heads and grips, though then it was common to produce the whole part in one piece.

"Off-Sets" tooth of the conventional saws required experienced technique. However, the development of the new production system, made "Off-Sets" tooth no longer needed and it makes the products at always stabilised cutting face.

Good, but likely an grey market import
So this one seems to be a mixed bag, and if the listing was more clear I'd probably give it 5 stars. But the listing says this product comes in English packaging, and also tells you if it's not in the English packaging it's not under warranty and possibly counterfeit. This would be fine if there were no other options or it was half the cost, but for like $5 you can find the genuine US version shipped and sold by Amazon, which gives you the warranty and assurance it's not a knockoff. To test this, I ordered my parents a set of the genuine ones and they showed up in very different packaging, and strangely enough the tool itself is slightly different (see pictures). In the side by side, the one on the left with the little plate and the extra screw is the US one, and it matches the listing photos. You'll notice the system to disassemble the blade assembly is actually very different. I also included a picture of this packaging as well as the genuine US packaging. Both say made in Japan though, so I can't account for the differences. While these are probably genuine and just an illicit import to make an extra buck, for me it's not worth the small amount of savings to give up the warranty.I will say they seem to cut well and are much better than any basic garden store shears. The US ones I ordered are a bit smoother squeezing the handles, but that could just be a fluke.
