The cord gets the job done and looks extremely sturdy. But looks can be deceiving.I have had 2 of the 6ft long cords for about a month. Nothing seems to fit in LifeProof cases, and I was very surprised it didn't fit in my old SkinIt case.I have owned many Apple, Amazon Basics, and other 3rd party cords. I tend to sleep with my phone in my bed which causes the cords to get moved around a lot, and often break within a month or so. Apple lasted about a month on a few occasions. Amazon Basics was much better but showed signs of wear by month 1 and was broken by month 2 or so.I attached pictures of what I received out of the box.4/4/16-Update:I received these cords a little less than a month ago and the gray cord has broken.There is no visible damage to the cord. It just started saying that it was not a supported accessory and wouldn't charge correctly on my phone. After that it didn't register being plugged in at all.4/4/16 Update 2I contacted customer support at about 1pm and I was on hold, as I had expected, at a busy time. The automated system offered me the choice to leave my number and they would get back to me asap. I left my number. Waiting listening to low quality music for 10 mins is painful so this feature is great. I did not mind waiting if they were going to call me instead of me them. It makes me feel like I have value in the company's eyes.Later, a very nice woman called me and asked me how I was doing before getting down to business. A+ attitude and manners right there! I told her about the gray cord not working. She asked me the normal questions like "is it plugged in" and of course I said yes. And then she looked up my order and said she would send me a new one. I did not have to send it back in. I didn't have to show a picture of it. I didn't have to do anything that most companies do to deter you from using the warranty. Just needed to give her a few numbers that I always keep on hand. I actually asked her for a different color she laughed and said yes, and that it would be with me in 3-5 days. In total the call lasted 6 minutes.QUICK TIP!!Leave the little reflective tag on the cord. It's tempting to cut off but if you have any issues the code on it is necessary.4/21/16Update:The cord is starting to show wear. The end of it is bending. Also, as I mentioned, earlier one died without any wear. It clearly shows that it isn't as sturdy as they hype it up to be. In the picture it may be hard to see but it is bending at the end. Also, the little Anker piece on the front fell off very easily. I am very disappointed as I had very high hopes for it and it is already breaking in about the same time frame as Amazon's cord.The only good thing about this experience is the customer service which was excellent and far exceeded my expectations.I am disappointed because, in my previous experience, the company sells reliable products.I suggest you stick to Apple's or Amazons cables because this one is far overpriced and promises durability that simply doesn't exist.Update 11/21/16:Of the 2 cords I purchased one broke right away. I complained prompting them to send another. The one sent to me also broke. They also sent me a new(at the time) version of the cord that lasted a month as well. The end of it broke completely off. The reason I am updating this now is because Anker had bothered me to update the review thinking I would change it better because of the new cords. I told them I may update it but the stars will stay the same as I did not believe this is a quality product. They then stopped emailing me about it. I just wanted to show you the damage that seems to be the trend with these cords. I put it in the picture. It is not the cord sold here it is a different design. It was supposedly supposed to be better but lasted just as long. I apologize to Anker as I did not do what you probably expected of me, but though in the end I ended up recieving 4 free cords I don't believe it's worth it to other customers to buy if only one is still working.Update 6/23/17:Final cord has stopped working. It got very light use but still has stopped working. This final cord broke in a different way than all the rest. It just stopped working. Connector didn’t come loose.I will not be purchasing this item again. Though I will continue to purchase from the company, as I have been. I believe that they are still a decent company that stands by their products. Unfortunately this is not their best work.I recommend the amazon basics braided cable. It’s feels similar and is about as durable. But it’s much cheaper and the connector has not broken off yet after a couple months use.8/5/17-Amazon basics braided cable has officially surpassed this cable and its competitors in reliability for me. There’s a little fraying but still working just fine even with the abuse it gets from me. Stay away from these cords, apple’s, and the normal cvc (plasticey outer protection) amazon basics cables.
