So we spent $40 on a nice one at Dicks Sporting Goods...and they took it to their cousins house...never to be seen again. Then my husband and I decided that we would by ourselves one. Their lucky we let them touch it! The $15 one I got here...so much better!! I wish I would have looked here first! This ones has a little softer feel to it, and its pink and zebra print! We have a net up in our laundry room, so we have a blast on our mini court all winter long! So far, no broken windows...I know...I'm asking for it. It's a great ball for a great price. I would highly recommend. If I have to buy a replacement...I will be back!

Bought this volleyball as a practice ball for my two daughters, ages 12 and 9. It is much softer than a regulation ball, making it much more comfortable while hitting around at home. We've used it several times for pick-up games indoors. As it is softer and lighter than other volleyballs it takes some getting used to at first. Once the kids had a chance to play around with it for awhile they loved the feel of it and preferred it to the other regulation balls that we had available. It's a well built ball that has so far withstood quite a bit of outdoor play without any noticeable damage.

She loves the cute design and I love that it doesn't sting her "rookie" arms when she plays with it. The only complaint I have is that it seems like and "indoor only" ball. When we took the ball outside to play, it ended up with some nicks and scratches in the soft outer material. Also a small portion of the zebra design has started to peel off. However, this does not detract from its functionality and is a great value for the price.

This little volleyball is amazing and I have not had a single complaint from her once about the firmness of the ball. I highly recommend for little ones who are just getting started and used to playing volleyball. Recommended as an indoor ball, or maybe outside in the grass, the fabric will get really dirty if played on the road (which is where my girls and I like to play)

I recently started a rec league with ~15 of my friends who are all males in their 20s. None of us really know much about volleyball. I originally bought a ball from wal-mart thinking all volleyballs were the same. Nope! That thing was like a brick on the arms ( I have now thrown it away. It was the same price as this ball ). Everyone was complaining and talking about how much it hurt. Personally I really like volleyball so I didn't want this to discourage anyone. So I decided to get 3 more balls, and see if any were better.

I bought this ball, the Tachikara SV5W (the best rated ball I could find which was on soft), and one came with the net I bought.

Like I said, none of my friends really knew anything about volleyball, but as a social experiment, I didn't tell them about how much each cost, or that this appeared to be essentially made for 12 year old girls. This quickly became everyone's preferred ball. So I figured I had to give it 5 stars. No more complaints about forearms hurting! Men evidently like this one too!

Added bonus: My gf who has always been afraid of volleyball (legit terrified) picked this ball up and decided that if someone spiked this ball at her face it really wouldn't be that bad, and she might play with us next time! Another 5 stars from me!

Perhaps the pros know why the $50 Tachikara SV5W is better than this ball, but none of my friends have thought so. I've only heard very positive comments from my male and female friends in their 20s. I will gladly buy this ball again.

Great beginner volleyball

It's soft to the touch and doesn't sting or hurt, which in turn extends the length of practice. The only downside is that it does scuff and marr easily on outside surfaces.
