Harvested from ancient sugar maple trees and hand crafted using traditional, artisanal health spout taps, our syrup is a pantry staple.
- GRADE A DARK COLOR AND ROBUST FLAVOR: With a deep hue and robust maple flavors, this versatile Grade A syrup is great as a topping and for cooking. Its strong maple flavor also lends itself to meat glazes, grill marinades, and on top of waffles, pancakes, and oatmeal.
- RESPONSIBLY SOURCED: Coombs Family Farms has produced organic, great tasting maple syrup for seven generations. We farm our own land, produce 100% organic maple syrup and package our own pure maple products. Coombs also sources maple syrup from over 3,000 small independent family farms that share our commitment to quality, environmental stewardship, and sustainable forest management.
- “A NATURAL FOOD”: This 100% organic Vermont maple syrup is harvested from pesticide free farms. Containing no artificial flavors, preservatives, or dyes, this Grade A syrup is non-GMO, gluten-free, nut-free, and Kosher Certified.
- PROTECT A WAY OF LIFE: At Coombs Family Farms, we support small family farms because we believe they provide more than high quality food. They help restore those lost feelings of connection and meaning by providing opportunities for us to play a better role in determining where the foods we eat come from, how our food is produced, and how it gets to our table. Small farms also strengthen rural economies, preserve important ecosystems, and protect a way of life that is increasingly under threat.

Product Certification (1)
USDA Organic is protected by law, inspected by experts, traced from farm to store, and shaped by public input. USDA develops and enforces the organic standards, which require products to be produced using farming practices that maintain and improve soil and water quality, minimize the use of synthetic materials, conserve biodiversity, and avoid genetic engineering, among other factors. Crops can be certified organic if they’re grown without prohibited substances such as most synthetic fertilizers and pesticides for three years prior to harvest. Livestock are raised on pasture and treated humanely without growth hormones or antibiotics. Organic products do not contain GMOs or artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. From the manufacturer
Taking the long view
By choosing Coombs Family Farms pure maple products, you’re helping to sow the seeds for a healthier, more sustainable society.
Arnold Coombs, a seventh generation maple farmer and family farm advocate.

- We only support using “health spout taps” and never over-tap our trees
- Our tree farms are pesticide free
- Our grading standards are stringent and steadfast
- We are committed to producing high quality maple and protecting our forests
The Craft of Maple Sugaring
Coombs Family Farms has produced pure, great tasting maple syrup for seven generations by taking special care of our ancient sugar maple trees. As small family farmers, we understood there are no shortcuts producing great tasting maple syrup.
We farm our own land, produce certified organic maple syrup and package our own pure maple products. Coombs also sources maple syrup from over 3,000 small independent family farms that share our commitment to quality, environmental stewardship and sustainable forest management.
- Environmental stewardship has been a guiding principal for our family, though in the early days, we just thought of it as being good farmers
Small is a Big Idea
At Coombs Family Farms, we support small family farms because we believe they provide more than high quality food. They help restore those lost feelings of connection and meaning by providing opportunities for us to play a better role in determining where the foods we eat come from, how our food is produced, and how it gets to our table. Small farms also strengthen rural economies, preserve important ecosystems, and help to protect a way of life that is increasingly under threat.
Seven Generations of Stewardship
Since the mid-1800’s, the Coombs family has been acting as responsible stewards of the forest, following a ‘sustainable’ approach to agriculture long before anyone had a specific name for it – or could conceive of any other way to farm. As part of a fabric of nearly 8000 maple farmers who are all preserving maple forests, Coombs Family Farms is doing more than making maple. We are helping to preserve crucial habitat for thousands of distinct plants and animals that need large intact tracts of forest to survive.
Get Real - Taste the Truth
In 1887, the first breakfast syrup that wasn’t pure maple was introduced. It was made of 45% maple syrup and 55% corn syrup. Its price compared to real maple syrup made it an instant hit. By the 1990s, most imitation syrup brands had eliminated maple syrup from their products entirely, opting to use high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), artificial flavorings and artificial colors instead. As a result, labeling laws in the United States were enacted to prohibit artificial syrups from using the word maple in their names.
Certified Organic Maple Syrup
Strict guidelines for organic maple syrup producers are as detailed as they are tough, but their purpose is deeply humanitarian, helping to protect health of consumers and the planet on which we live. Organic agriculture ensures the long-term health of both wildlife and humans by strengthening soil from which the crops are cultivated. Rather than viewing soil, plants, animals, humans and the planet separately, the principles of organic farming are based upon treating all of these as one interconnected entity.

But then we moved. No more Ingles (which is sad enough in itself) and no more Coombs Family Farms Dark Color, Robust taste syrup. It's Ok, I told myself, we'll just pick up another pure maple syrup brand and move on. But that didn't work. I didn't know it, but this maple syrup was slowly and quietly ruining all other maple syrup for me. So now I am in the position of really being hooked on not just real maple syrup, but this particular brand and this particular grade and flavor. Curse you for being so delicious and the perfect maple syrup flavor.
I am very fortunate to have found that you can purchase this on Amazon at a very reasonable price. Buy it!
