Good Ti pot, with graduations, that fits MSR XGK stove inside completely
4 Stars
Good Ti pot, with graduations, that fits MSR XGK stove inside completely
You can fit an MSR XGK expedition stove completely inside the pot, with the lid nested on the bottom, for a total size of 5.5" diameter x 4.625" tall (with lid nested). The XGK could probably fit in a slightly smaller diameter pot (e.g. 1300ml), but is mostly limited by the pump, which is 4.875" long (so you either need that diameter or internal height). The XGK does not fit inside the Toaks 1100ml pot (the stove just fits inside, but neither the diameter or height are big enough for the pump). The handles on this pot are attached across a larger surface area, and are sturdier, than the Toaks 1100ml pot, but don't stick out as far. It's critical that the pot has some kind of graduations, and this one does (both ml and oz). This pot will fit inside a .50-caliber ammo can, as well as the larger 5.56mm "Fat .50" ammo can, for storage. The lid doesn't have a way to attach tightly to the pot though, and the mesh bag seems a little cheap/flimsy, which is the reason for one star deduction (especially since it costs 40% more than a Toaks pot).

5.0 out of 5 stars Investment Camp Gear
Reviewed in the United States on June 20, 2012
I was really on the fence about buying this set. I've got a one year old and a two year old that my wife and I were taking camping in a two person ultralight tent. Is the expensive cookset worth it? I decided that even if we didn't need the weight savings (we're not hiking Everest here...) it would be a nice set for the girls to use for years to come. I've got a Titanium money clip that I've had for almost 10 years and it's seen some tough times and it's never let me down so I knew this cookset would be tough. I bought the $15 Amazon backpacking stove to go with it and it rocked! Even though we just used it do heat up formula water for the one year old, it was fun to use and well made. The large pot size means that the flame has a chance to spread and there's more contact area even when heating only 10 ounces of water (for a bottle) so it heats very fast with the small stove we used. We didn't really cook in it so I can't speak to that but our meal was freeze dried and would have been just boiling water anyhow so it would have worked just as well. We walked over nearby and bought hot dogs and french fries instead of the freeze dried meal or the soup...The cookset makes for a fantastic set of child's toys when camping and there was little concern of the girls breaking them. In the event of a zombie outbreak while we were camping I could rest assured that we could use them forever to live out of. A great buy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight Versatile Pot/Pan Cookset
Reviewed in the United States on July 18, 2019
I bought this Snow Peak Trek 1400 Titanium Cookset in order to have a bit more versatile cooking system. I'd begun backpacking more with my girlfriend, and was cooking more food. We had started out cooking on a Stainless Steel 24oz cookset and quickly realized that we couldn't boil enough water for dinner and warm drinks, or even dessert at the same time.

Pros:
Lightweight ( 189 grams, 6.7 oz pot and pan weight only)
Durable
Safe to eat with (Titanium leeches VERY little into our foods, no non-stick coatings)
Fits an 8oz Fuel Canister and Stove, plus accessories as pictured
More versatile than just a pot! Used pan for a thirsty pup when backpacking.

Cons:
Some reviewers have mentioned problems with their pans "folding" under weight due to the way the hinge works. I've not experienced this, and have stressed the hinge substantially- I figured I'd mention it.
I've not experienced a single real issue myself.

Overall I'd highly recommend this Cookset. It's a great buy, and Titanium really lasts for the long haul. I love mine overall!
