Product Description

The dual-spectrum M600V AA Scout Light produces 250 lumens of white light suited for short- to medium-range applications, or 100 milliwatts of non-visible infrared output for use with night-vision devices—with no IR filter required. Simply twist the engraved dual-spectrum V-Series head to switch between the two light-output modes. This self-locking head selector can also be turned to “disable” mode for stealth operations or transport. The high-performance LEDs and the TIR lens are virtually indestructible—with no filament to burn out or break. And, as its name suggests, the versatile M600V AA is powered by two AA lithium or two AA alkaline batteries—the latter being more readily available worldwide. The M600V AA is activated by a click-type tailcap switch—press for momentary-on, press further to click it constant-on. Available separately is a remote tape switch with a 7-inch cable that provides fingertip control—simply press the user-positionable pad for momentary-on activation. Built from rugged aerospace aluminum that’s hard anodized with a Mil-Spec finish for added durability, the lightweight M600V AA attaches quickly and securely to any MIL-STD-1913 rail via its fully integrated thumbscrew clamp—without weighing down your weapon. O-ring and gasket seals help keep out moisture and dust, making this robust Scout Light ready for action in even the most inhospitable places on Earth. Built for combat, ready for anything. Fits: Rifles, carbines, and submachine guns with a MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) rail on the forend.

Customers like the brightness of the light. They mention it's an excellent light that illuminates the surrounding area. The military-grade light is extremely high quality and can be trusted with your life. The 500 lumens is good on a rifle and may be a bit much indoors. The beam is just what you need and the build quality is very robust. The light dims slightly to allow better retention of night vision when shining, and it turns night into day.

Fantastic upgrade
I bought this light, m600 white light specifically, to replace my p2x fury on my hd AR15 and i couldn't be more happy. The m600 is alot slimmer, has an integral mount, z68 click button is MUCH easier to maneuver that the one on the fury, and just much more usable overall. Build quality is excellent in every aspect, i expect this weapon light to last a lifetime. One last note is that the scout is one of the only flashlights i know of that can handle the long term affects of recoil. This is the ONLY light for the ar15, all others are compromises

I have been using a Surefire X300U on my carbine for a few years now but it has some drawbacks. It is bulky, the battery compartment latch is fragile, it's easy to activate unintentionally and it's BRIGHT all the time. The M600IB solves all of these issues. The IB has a larger bezel than the X300U but overall it is lower profile. I purchased an M600 Scout body and an inline scout mount from Arisaka Defense and it really pulled the IB in close to my MI Gen3 handguard. There is just enough clearance to be able to remove the head and replace batteries. Although I had to move my MBUS front sight back about an inch, I highly recommend this mount setup. Scout lights have a reputation for durability and I see nothing that would make me believe the IB is any different. Only time will tell. The tailcap switch is large and easy to activate but not too easy. There is a generous amount of travel before the button clicks to constant on making momentary operation a snap. So now the best part, intellibeam. This thing adjusts brightness FAST! I had to move the beam from close to distant objects quickly several times to catch it working. The light comes on in the dimmest setting then brightens as your surroundings dictate. In my bedroom with light colored walls and white ceilings the IB is bright but not overly so. It does not wash out my red dot sight which the X300U does. Outside at night this thing is a beast, with clear targeting out to an estimated 150 yards and objects visible much further. Bonus round...the adjustable beam saves energy thus batteries may last longer than in the X300U. IMHO this light/mount setup is ideal for a tactical/hunting carbine.

This is a fairly expensive dedicated weapons light. So far I am quite happy with it. It is slim and mounts easily on the forearm rail. I like the switch that is both momentary and will switch to constant on. The 500 lumens is good on a rifle though it may be a bit much indoors. As a dedicated weapons light it should easily handle the abuse from a 7.62x51.

The price on Amazon was excellent, the seller shipped it very quickly and it came sooner than I thought it would.

With proper placement this will function well without the need for a pressure pad with the attendant wire problems.

I liked this well enough that I ordered a second one to put on another rifle. I am going to try that one replacing the body with an Ariska Defense body without the picattiny rail mount and using their inline Key Mod mount. It should keep it close the the center of the bore at the 10:30 position nicely. If that works I may experiment with milling off the picatinny mountears and just leaving the two screw bosses; that would save the cost of replacing the body or the trouble of assembling a light from a body, Malkoff head and Clicky switch.

Nice and compact, yet it will blind anything I point it at. The rail attachment is a plus, because it's welded to the light and it's not too bulky either. It fits right in my small flashlight case. I had to order the High Speed end cap, and pressure switch separately, but it works like a charm. The IR light is pretty bright as well, while looking through PVS-14 night vision. This is a great deal. The older lights are durable, but weigh more and most don't have the option of having IR at the ready without having a Flip-cap installed. This thing very well may be able to fit on a Desert Eagle. It's that Compact.

Man what an ordeal I went thru, ever since this CV19 outbreak Amazon shipping dept has been, well, a little off... Twice I received the wrong light. No big deal amazon always takes care of it. This finally arrived just what I ordered and its impressive! The beam is just what you need and the build quality is very robust. Cant go wrong with this one.

The very best light surefire produces. Doesn't blind the operator in close quarters, yet turns night into day. Hooked this up on a DDM4A1 with eotech optics. Yes, it's expensive but worth every penny. Almost $400.00 after rear cap and push button plate. You get what you pay for. The cheaper alternatives don't hold up to heavy recoil over time and may not turn on when you need them to. The sheer blinding rays will disorient any intruder and buy you a couple seconds to lock on your target before firing.

This is an extrmely durable and dependable light that I've used for years. It has a blinding white LED light that performs better than many other comparable lights on the market. It's compact in size, compared to many other lights, but is able to reach long distances with its beam. The ability to illuminate the surrounding area is an invaluable asset that you will not find in many other "focused" beams.

Expensive, and people would be right to say Streamlight gives good enough products for MUCH cheaper, but the thing is that Surefire was built with professional use in mind instead of bump in the night encounters. For instance, there is a switch function to disable the light so as to practice light discipline. On this specific model, that same switch function allows it to switch to strictly IR. Furthermore, the dual tape switches that surefire sells are compatible with a number of IR laser/IR illuminators that you would see in the LE and Mil community.

In short, this thing really was built with military personnel in mind. I mean, sure it doesn't have the 1000 lumen capability of other lights, BUT grunts get issued night vision anyways.

It's a Surefire so you know it's going to be bright, durable and awesome. This tailcap only model was great, saved about $50-$60 by excluding the pressure switch which I would never use. Mounted this to the BCM Keymod rail on my AR using the BCM Keymod scout light mount. Perfect combination.
