Invaluable for the Busy and Organized
This is my second non-personalized Erin Condren lifeplanner. I bought the 2016 version at Staples and it was invaluable for organizing my personal, professional, and wedding planning lives. This year I am not planning a wedding and I still refer to my lifeplanner constantly. The vertical layouts with customizable titles are perfect for me; I label them "reminders", "to do", and "work." This planner features a large coated metal spiral (allowing the planner to lay flat), thick, high quality paper, and laminated, double-sided tabs. I like the extra touches like long-term goal planning, a note page each month, and "thankful thought" for each week--it keeps me both forward thinking and grounded.There are a few differences between the 2016 and this 2017 version.Cons: the plastic zippered pouch is no longer there, the folder is single card stock instead of doubledPros: the interchangeable covers now have a "whiteboard" on the inside (lined in front, unlined in back)Neutral: different decorative and color schemesI was able to successfully snip out the plastic zippered pouch from my 2016 and add it to my 2017--having said that, I use it very rarely and am not sure it is necessary. The paper quality was not particularly good--flat white, and the printing on the opposite side shows through a bit, so I imagine that ink would, too.
I also missed having some guidelines for writing in the spaces--they are entirely blank.
I was not crazy about the overall organization, either: I prefer continuous week, but this has the monthly calendars plopped in between (with tabs). The cover was pretty enough, but it the shiny laminated plastic felt cheap. These are largely personal preferences, though.
The real dealbreaker for me, however, was the binding. The spiral is HUGE, around two inches in diameter, far larger than the thickness of the book. It looks out of proportion and gets in the way of your arm when you're writing. This is not something you can really glean from the Amazon description, so I've added a photo. More troubling still was the fact that it's a standard coil spiral--the wire runs in one continuous loop, making it much more difficult to turn pages than it is with a quality comb binding (as is used on most other planners I've used, including the MomAgenda and the ActionDay planner). I'm super fussy about my planner, since I interface with it all day long, all year long. I'm returning it.
Nice page layout, but I didn't like the paper/binding. .

I'm a complete planner geek, and after years with the MomAgenda I thought I would check this one out. The page layout offered what I really wanted (8 columns a week, one for each day plus a column for notes/reminder).
