Goes together very easy, the boards are sturdy. The framing pieces could probably be a little thicker for more stability, but it holds its weight just fine.

I would like to be fair in my review. I've assembled a ton of steel racks just like this one, and these work perfectly fine. I recently ordered 4 of these for camera equipment storage. I find that they work great for that kind of thing and I usually store anywhere from 50-100lbs of equipment per self. (So I'm not overloading these things like some people may be trying to do.) I also think that a lot of people reviewing these, probably have never assembled shelves like this before. First of all, forget using a rubber mallet. Use a normal hammer. You won't damage the metal frames. (They're metal..) Just use short and quick hits. The joints are supposed to be stiff and tight, this ensures a solid hold. I don't recommend prying them open like some people keep mentioning. BUT, I would like to give these racks a 5 star review, but they do have a problem. Missing parts! 2 of the 4 racks I ordered were short a part or two. That is some pretty bad quality control. However, I contacted Amazon and they sent me a replacement rack, which I used the parts from to finish everything. Assembly time is anywhere from 15-30 minutes for an average person.

This has a good sturdy design to it. Doesn't wiggle or shake unless I purposely do it to test it out, and I have quite a few heavy computers on here too. It was a little pain to assemble, some of the bars would not stay in when assembling the other bars, but it was only on the bottom part, which was weird. But I was able to assemble it in no time and it seems to be holding up very well.

Not too hard to put together but I'm glad I had a hammer because you do need it to get the shelving support locked in the down position. A little smaller than I imagined it would be, but actually glad it's not any bigger. It's just the right size for my storage closet:)

Relatively easy to put together though a hammer or blunt instrument makes it easier. The shelves do not stay in place very well. If you need to pick up and move it the shelves pop out of place and it begins to fall apart. Once a load is placed on shelves it is sturdy and shelves stay in place. Keep in mind the shipping box is the manufactures original packaging (utilizing poor quality Chinese cardboard) and I they had issues with the box being damaged and loosing parts. I ordered 2 shelves. one shows up damaged and missing parts. They send replacement only to repeat the damage and missing parts. I kept one shelf and returned all others for credit. They do cover all shipping expenses if shipping company damages box though.

The clips that hold the sections together are poorly designed and should be flipped the other way so they don't fall off. Shipping box was in pieces when it arrived but the items all seemed in decent condition.

I won't be using this to store heavy items so luckily the clips won't be too concerning. I went to a different place to buy 3 more to ensure they could store heavy items without any safety issues.

I paid $57 and thought that was too much and now they've raised their price.
