Love is the answer

Joshua’s Prayer is a wonderfully uplifting story full of family, love, and the complexities of life. Both Sam and Nicole struggle with their pasts, their faith, and what’s best for Joshua, Sam’s son who has AFS. Their love for Joshua, and mistrust of each other cause conflict between their thoughts and actions.

Can two people with hearts broken by circumstances learn to trust each other for the sake of a child? Does the need for trust run even deeper? Do they need to first learn to love and forgive themselves?

The pure love, and simple wisdom of one special boy could be the healing balm they both need.

This is an excellent heartwarming book. I recommend it.

A touching story of the love a father has for his son who doesn't remember him, a caregiver who loves the little boy she cares for, and the love the child has for his caregiver. A truly heartwarming story that shows you can have hope even in the most desperate of times. Beautifully written and will have you laughing and crying throughout the story.

From her previous series set in medieval times to the present and real life issues of Joshua's Prayer, Rae has what it takes to be a great author who can capture our hearts. Finding trust in God and in a relationship is the soul to this novel of a young father,Sam, somewhat estranaged from his son who has FAS. Wanting to run away again with Joshua, Nicole does not want Sam to take Joshua away, yet in the end she realizes Sam is a good father and so much more. This heartfelt novel shows faith and family are key elements to life. The characters and their challenges prove this time and time again.

I decided to read this book based on the FAS (Fetal Alcohol Syndrome). Though the book didn't really.go into a lot of details about how this affects children born with it, the story was so touching.

In times of despair there is always hope. We just have to look for it and believe it will come.

This is a love story. The love of a father for his son. A son who does not remember his father. The love of a caregiver for a little boy and his love for her. The struggles involved for all three to stop doubting each other.

Olivia Rae gripped me from the beginning with this heartfelt romance about two people overcoming the hardships in their past to care for a little boy looking for stability and a family. The tension between Sam and Nicole kept me turning pages. Both characters had to overcome heartache from their pasts in order to have a future together. Joshua tugged on my heart strings. Rae wrote a five year old boy perfectly. I cheered for him to have a family again with Nicole as his doting stepmom. These characters will stay with me a long time. Rae invited me into their lives and made me want to stick around longer--even after the happy ending.

This was a nice, inspirational read. What is a man to do when his son does not recognise him after his wife death. Well for this doctor, he will do the best he can and take his son away from the shelter his wife ran to after some dodgy dealings and he on a good Samaritan cause to help others. However, with a child reluctance and a social worker who thinks she knows best and her past bad experience colouring the water, will his absence work against him, or will his need to make up for his wife's errors and to gain his sons trust pave the way for a bright future?

This was the first book by Olivia Rae I have read. It was a heartwarming story of Sam, a widower, trying to reconnect to his young son after being apart for months. It deals with several serious issues yet still doesn’t get depressing. The strife between Sam and Nicole, his son’s caregiver, begins immediately. They have both been molded by painful experiences in their pasts which makes it seem they could never be compatible. Ms. Rae does a great job of showing how God can make a path even where it seems impossible. I was given a copy of this book by the author. This review is my own opinion.

When I first started this book, I had hopes that it would be interesting, but it is like so many Christian books in that the author tells the story from the perspective of both main characters. I was disappointed and did not finish the book.
