The buttons are a bit too sensitive for my likes, as I grew up on arcade ones... which are higher and require more pressure. I find myself hitting buttons by accident on a pretty regular basis. I might change this in the future, but the ease in which I was able to change the gate makes me confident this will also be easy to do.
It's big enough to sit on your lap and not get juked around too much when the fight gets heated. Plus the padding makes it not as cold when I'm wearing shorts.
In all, this is a great controller for any fighting game on the Xbox that is a pretty close replica of what I remember from my time in mid-90's arcades!
As for the layout, compared to MadCatz Sticks like the TE or the buttons are a bit widely spaced for my liking, but you get used to it. 7th button on top is initially mapped as the start button, DISABLE IT OR CHANGE IT TO THE BACK BUTTON IN OFFLINE COMPETITION, if you accidentally stray across it (and the buttons are sensitive) you are going to give away rounds for no reason. The stick itself is very nice a restrictor plate would be a helpful addition as it is a box-4-corners stick to start. As a guy new to fighting games this sometimes messes up trying to buffer 540s into 720s (for like Hawk and Gief) or getting dragon punch when I want fireball or miss my spd input cause I can't feel the click on the small movement SPD shortcut. Additionally I think you can get an adapter if you have a PS4 anyways, but not having to buy the adapter or buy a PS4 period can be a big bonus.
Great stick, just work with it and see if you like. Very versatile
I have beat up on this thing and it is still as responsive as when I got it last year. I have been using the stock Hyabusa stick and kuro buttons. I did find rotational specials difficult to pull off with the square restrictor but when replaced with octagonal I was landing them every time. Don't use Sanwa restrictor, rather get the Kowal Octopus for 3 dollars as seen in photo it is made specifically for this stick and no mods required.
On 360 I use it to play KoF XIII, Persona 4 Arena, BlazBlue, SF IV, Tekken, and Darkstalkers.
On XOne I use it to play Killer Instinct, SkullGirls, Tekken Tag, BlazBlue CP, DOA5LR, etc.
So it gets used heavily and I can say that it is comfortable, durable and responsive!
Works great and I use it for both 360 and XOne. Same performance on both. I had some learning curve changing from controller, but it has helped the most on 360 since that controller does not have a "normal" D-Pad.

As far as using the stick as a fighting stick goes, it's great. Has the right feel and it's very sturdy. Also the USB cable can be stowed in a compartment and doesn't get in the way.
Here's the garbage parts though:
For Windows 10, this ONLY works in 360 mode, meaning you're stuck with using xinput. It flat-out does not recognize the controller when in XBO (or dinput) mode. So if you're playing a game that only uses one or the other, this causes some issues. This is not a problem with Hori but rather one with Microsoft who only wants genuine MS Xbox peripherals to be used on Windows through dinput.
On this model, there's no L3 or R3 buttons meaning you're just SoL if you need to use them (mostly used in training modes or other extra modes to control things like recording, resetting, camera stuff etc).
Overall, really great stick. No idea why there's no L3/R3 though.
