We originally started buying Now brand nutritional yeast because it was one of the B-12 fortified brands that reportedly did not contain hazardous levels of lead. We have not, of course, analyzed the contents ourselves but are now in the habit of buying it because of the taste.

It has such an amazing nutty, cheesy flavor, I find myself reaching for it to make sauces, add flavor to soup, add dimension to veggie stock (it will turn stock from clear to cloudy), top pasta, and more. Want something extra yummy for a sandwich? Stir Now Nutritional Yeast Flakes and a couple of crushed capers into Veganaise to turn a sandwich into a special occasion.

As an added bonus, it adds a wonderful salty taste to food despite the fact it contains a measly 5mg of sodium in a serving. (I keep checking the label because I can’t believe it doesn’t contain salt!) It also adds a lot of flavor to salads, scrambled tofu, beans, and whatnot.

But you certainly don’t have to be a vegan or vegetarian to enjoy it! Toss it on pizza, stir it in a casserole, or sprinkle it on soup if you or a family member needs a little extra protein and B-12. Sometimes we even put it in a shaker with granulated garlic and dried herbs and set it out by our pasta bowl so guest can try it as a pasta topping.

NOW natural foods and supplements are consistently high quality for a little lower price than you may be accustomed to paying. This NOW nutritional yeast gets fairly high marks on all levels. Bragg's Nutritional Yeast definitely tastes better and is even of higher quality and I have not found any nutritional yeast that beats it. That said, the NOW does taste pretty good, and it is one of the best deals out there in terms of price. Additional B Vitamins have been added. If you have Candida albicans, it has been proven that NUTRITIONAL yeast is SAFE and will not affect your Candida albicans, but if you have this condition, DO NOT ingest other yeasts such as brewer's yeast and active dry yeast used in baking. These statements are backed by science: There is a lot of information on this subject, and all reputable sources agree. NOW nutritional yeast is high quality Saccharomyces cerevisiae organisms under tightly controlled conditions, and the Red Star Yeast Company LLC is referenced on the NOW container. All in all, this is good nutritional yeast and gets a lot of 5-star reviews on Amazon, but it does not beat Bragg's. Fight Candida infection and improve immune system

I had suffered from glyphosate poisoning from eating GMO and non-organic foods. Glyphosate is sprayed on all of our non organic food and feed crops and is now concentrated in beef, pork, and chicken meat. Glyphosate is not just used in RoundUp to kill weeds in farms, it's a patented and powerful antibiotic. It's found in all our processed foods because it has contaminated our drinking water. Basically, glyphosate destroyed all my good bacteria in my gut which caused a health crisis dealing with different infections. Result was years of allergies to certain foods like peanuts, gluten, dairy, and sugar. I would get extreme dry skin where I scratched until my skin bleed, hives on skin, gout like symptoms in my joints, swollen and painful lymph nodes in my neck, watery stool, frequent urges to use bathroom, extreme bloating and gas in gut day and night, pain around my liver and pancreas, sore thigh muscles and chronic arthritis from autoimmune disease, low quality sleep from body pain, low energy and lethargy throughout day, sick easily due to low immune system, brain fog and mental exhaustion, easily stressed or high adrenal fatigue, gingivitis gum disease, overworked liver and pancreas that were weakening; life was almost unbearable. I realized that my liver and pancreas were failing and early stages of diabetes type 2 was beginning to show in blood tests. Doctors and diatician didn't know what I was suffering from. Told me to cut back on sugar which I did but no help there. One of the supplements that helped me recover my life back is nutritional yeast. Taking the nutritional yeast is now part of my life to get my body's B vitamins back to normal since glyphosate caused my Candida infection and non alcoholic fatty liver disease, which both depleted my B vitamins.
First, I had to control my infections to stop depleting my B vitamins. To fight Candida, I use a good multi strain probiotic that had at least 6 strains of Lactobacillus bacteria; taking it three times a day, I tripled the recommended dose. I included L-glutamine powder in order to start healing my IBS and leaky gut faster by making collagen to heal my intestines. To assist in the speed of making more collagen to heal my leaky intestine, I also took zinc, vitamin C, organic protein powder, and Fulvic acid. I made my own kefir, kimchi, and kombucha to include in my diet to increase the good probiotics. I supplement with Vitamin A drops, an antioxidant to protect gut from further collagen damage. My sick liver was not making bile. I took taurine to improve bile production and flow from liver to remove gall stones in my gall bladder; the stones cleared because sharp pain around liver stopped. I took milk thistle to speed up healing of my liver. I took Swedish Bitters to improve digestion and increase healing speed of my pancreas and liver. I used a dental water pick with iodine and baking soda in the water to rid gingivitis/candida in my gums and mouth while my immune system focused on cleaning candida yeast overgrowth and infection in my blood and organs. I took MSM simultaneously to increase sulfur in my system to increase speed of healing for bones, muscle, skin, and joints. I made and drink a kale shake daily to boost potassium intake and fiber in my gut to feed the good bacteria. I took nutritional yeast enriched with B1 and other B vitamins to help my body metabolize sugar so I don't feel muscle pain after I eat; with B1, I can now metabolize sugar better.
Some supplements and routines were started a few months earlier, but they didn't do much or last long for most of my physical conditions. Exception was the caprylic-acid, Saccharomyces boulardii yeast, and nutritional yeast.
I took caprylic-acid slow release with magnesium, which noticeably suppressed the candida yeast infection in my gut; I immediately felt relief with less bloating in two days, joints and muscle pain improved to where I can tolerate it daily. Still, caprylic-acid was not good enough as candida yeast is very resilient and grows back quickly due to my weakened immune system, and lack of good yeast population in gut to displace the bad candida yeast.
Started the Saccharomyces Boulardii yeast supplement and all my physical ailments turned around quickly. My dry skin condition was gone in a few days. My infections were under control but was still feeling muscle pain and joint pain after I eat a meal.
Within one day of taking this nutritional yeast, my muscle and joint pain went away whenever I eat my meals. Now my body can metabolize sugar again, my immune system is able to make more antibodies to fight infections at the cellular level, and I have improved my adrenal fatigue with more energy.

After a few months the treatment I gave myself eliminated food allergies and sensitivities too; no more food related allergies to peanuts, dairy, gluten, and sugar. I also cut out all alcohol, junk food, most gluten foods, started a low gluten diet, and followed a ketogenic diet which helped tremendously.
Eat organic and support our organic farmers and avoid as much as possible glyphosate poisoned foods which started this global health crisis.

Update 7/16/19,
While on the keto diet, I discovered that I actually stopped craving junk food and sugary snacks. I also started taking sea salt since I stopped eating salty junk foods. My energy levels are now amazing, I no longer have any signs of a leaky gut, all traces of candida infection in gut are gone, and I am still able to eat gluten, peanuts, sugar, and dairy foods without issues.
Discovered that I needed to supplement with Magnesium glycinate daily because my intake of zinc and Vitamin C depleted Magnesium in my body. Lookup in Google "mineral interrelationships circle" to see how all minerals in our body impact each other.
Discovered through reading medical journals that B1 and B6 are essential to our diet because they help our body dispose of Advanced Glycation End products (AGEs) which we create when we eat sugar with fat or with protein foods causing formation of sticky protein and fat in our blood. AGEs are glycotoxins which are oxidative compounds that result in accelerated aging, collagen breakdown (our whole body and hair especially intestines are mostly made of collagen), cancer, etc (the list of diseases is too long to write here, look it up in Google). Basically, all processed foods have AGEs, which is why most of us are getting sick or gaining weight. Although we won't be able to avoid all processed foods, this nutritional yeast supplement does assist our body to neutralize the effects of AGEs in our diet. That is how and why this supplement really worked for me in my improving health.

Good quality! This is the best I've found in India so far and I've tried a few different ones here on Amazon. This one has large flakes and a true nutri yeast smell and taste. This is excellent for vegan recipes and in general for adding flavor to food. If you've never tried nutritional yeast before, you should know it is meant to smell funky and be very dry. That's good! (Another reviewer thought this was smelly and stale, but I've ordered this brand 3 times now and never had an issue with it being off) Size of container is way bigger than the volume inside, so that is weird. But these containers will be really nice to reuse, so I'm not complaining! Definitely try this one.
