You cannot find a better safe for the price. Paying more does not necessarily mean that you are getting better quality. ALL safes can be breached in only a few minutes using the right tools, so it is important that you select an ideal location to mount it. I chose to mount mine to a concrete floor inside the recess of a closet, this makes it impossible for would-be burglars to have room to use any types of prying instruments. Power tools, however, could still be used, so keep this in mind. Just remember, a safe only buys you time, it does not make it impossible to steal your valuable goods. As an extra security measure, I anchored the back as well as to the wall studs.
This safe has 6 locking points, 3 located on each side of the door. The door opens and closes very smoothly, and the handle and dial both turn just as easily. The interior carpeting is nicely done as well.
Unfortunately, some people gave this safe a negative review due to claims that the dial feels 'rough'. This is because you must completely turn the handle to the locked position before rotating the dial. I just wanted to address this issue for those who might have doubts.
Now, on to the details. The safe is very-well-made and is aesthetic to look at. The shelving that comes with the unit is easy to install, and the possibilities are limitless. I placed ammo cans on the very bottom, then placed shelves above, allowing my rifles to rest on the bottom shelf. The specs state that up to 22 long guns can be stored, and this is true. BUT, if you are storing rifles that have accessories attached, you will not be able to store nearly as many.....this is to be expected though.
Overall, this safe is affordable, works extremely well for its intended use, and will give you some peace of mind knowing that your valuables have some protection from thieves while you are away from home.
