Bought it to use with a nail polish with glitter in it. The matte works on the polish itself, while still allowing the glitter to sparkle. The effect is really quite neat. Bought it to use with OPI Nail Lacquer, Today I Accomplished Zero,... but will use it with some other colors as well.
I was really looking forward to having a matte top coat. It's not aweful but there are definitely some pros and cons. Pro: good size container, wrapped well, doesn't leak, goes on smoothly, dries relatively quick, does have a somewhat matte finish, is cheap. Cons: the matte finish is sort of matte, but is still somewhat shiny, also the matte finish completely disappears after a couple of days. For some reason it seems that it does not allow the colors underneath to breathe leaving a look that it isn't totally dry. Overall: Good for the price, I wouldn't recommend this and would just say go for the more expensive Essie brand matte about you top coat.
I really like this matte topcoat a lot. It will matte-ify any polish that isn't shimmery or sparkly, basically, any solid color. My only problem is that this brush carries a lot of coat so it goes on thick.
I bought this on sale at the local Walmart for 93¢. I had never tried matte nail polish before and I want expecting it to work very well since it was so cheap. Turns out I love matte nail polishes. This polish wears great, dries fast,and lasts longer than almost every other top coat I've tried. I am rough on my nail sand I wash my hands and shower a lot. This polish lasted over a week with no chipping. It gets 4 stars because towards the end the Polish was becoming less matte. That could have been the top layer just coming off though, I'm not sure.
