Great compact Tripod, but buy a warranty with it. A tab broke & head wobbled, but may be fixable.
    4 Stars
Great compact Tripod, but buy a warranty with it. A tab broke & head wobbled, but may be fixable.
I like this a lot for its compact size and it is very sturdy when its setup, but I did have a few issues with 2 years of ownership. One of the main issues was a plastic tab ended up breaking. Based on the way its made, thats a non fixable issue, so it won't go as tall unless I try to open it with a screwdriver which will be my plan from here if needed.I also had issues with the head wobbling. I finally took it apart and had to do some engineering surgery to get it functional again. Some of the internal allen screws came loose and the bottom connection where it can rotate would wobble which I am sure afffected some of my recent long exposure shots. There are 2 sets of 3 screws on the head of the tripod. You have to twist off the head from the tripod base to access the screws, and there are 3 phillips head screws that were already partially stripped and only one hole that has to be rotated to access them. Once those are off, the base where it can rotate comes off and there are 3 internal allen screws which ended up being loose which allowed it to wobble. To fix this i also drilled out 2 more access holes for the phillips head screws (which I would replace if i had that option), then I tightened up the allen screws and put it back together and that fixed the wobbling.I purchased the extended warranty with accidental damage and handling and filed a claim based on the 2 issues I had. I expected to send it in, but they just paid me for the cost of the tripod, so I took it apart and figured out that I can fix the wobble. One of the leg tabs is still broken, but I can get that to extend with a screwdriver if I need it to.Without those 2 issues I would give it 5 stars, but I will still keep it workimg, but that is the fix if you have the head wobbling around the base connection to the tripod legs. I posted some pictures with a little video of the issues beffore I fixed it. My favorite aspect is that its very compact and I can fit it easily in my backpack and extend to a decent height for phtography. I would have just used my warranty money to buy another one if I couldn't figure out how to fix the wobble.

The TYCKA 56” Camera Tripod is a must-have for any photographer or videographer who wants to capture stunning shots with ease. As a professional photographer, I have used many tripods, but this one stands out for its durability, portability, and versatility.

One of the things I love about this tripod is how lightweight it is. I can easily carry it around for long hours without feeling weighed down. Plus, it comes with a convenient carry bag that makes it easy to transport and protect.

The 360-degree ball head is another great feature that makes it easy to capture different angles and perspectives. The quick release plate is also a handy feature that allows me to switch between camera and tripod quickly.

Overall, I highly recommend the TYCKA 56” Camera Tripod to any photographer or videographer. It's a high-quality, versatile, and affordable tripod that is perfect for both indoor and outdoor photography. It has been my go-to tripod since I bought it and has helped me capture some of my best shots.

Picked this up after seeing something like this recommended on a photography forum. My other tripods were starting to fail and I wanted something I could take with me easily and not break the bank. So far it works great, compact, super light, and easy to use.

I have not figured out the monopod conversion yet as the instructions are a bit hard to follow, but it's been solid otherwise.

    Report
Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2018
I took this tripod with me on a 12-day trip in Europe and feel like I've put this thing through its paces. I've also used it a fair amount at home, particularly for long-exposure shots at night. For reference, I shoot with a Canon 5D IV with attached battery pack and a 28-70 L 2.8 II or 70-200 L 2.8 II lens.

    THE GOOD:
On the whole, this thing is fairly sturdy. It's a great travel tripod: it's fairly light and is quite compact when fully folded. I brought a heavy duty camera backpack with me and was able to fit this in the bag easily along with a bunch of other accessories, lenses, and the body itself. Everything feels solid, and I don't get too worried that the tripod is going to abruptly fall over, taking my camera with it. The ability to remove one of the legs to make a monopod is also a nice touch. And all of these features for, in the world of tripods, a pretty low price, relatively.

    THE BAD:
I'm not going to hold this against the product, per se, because I should have set my expectations accordingly. After all, what I could I reasonably expect from a $60 tripod while using $5000 of equipment? This thing simply can't handle a full-sized body with a heavy-duty lens. It actually handles the 5D IV, battery pack, and 28-70 fairly well. I can get long exposure shots (e.g., 15-30 seconds) with no problem. The tripod holds the lens where I place it and I don't get any appreciable blur in my images. The 70-200, on the other hand, is simply too much for this tripod. I can't do long exposure shots with this lens because the tripod simply can't keep the camera up - there's a small but nevertheless appreciable drift that happens with this lens that makes long-exposure shots unobtainable. Higher shutter speeds aren't a problem and I still use this tripod for that purpose, even with the heavier lens.

While there is a panorama ring on the tripod, I find it to be fairly unimpressive and unreliable. I simply shoot panoramas by sight because I find the ring too unreliable.

    OVERALL:
For $60, I'm not going to complain too much about this tripod, and as a travel tripod it's an awesome product at this price points. It's shortcomings aside, I'm still going to keep this thing in my bag, though I will be on the lookout for a sturdier - and more expensive - tripod in the future. It's reasonably well-built, sturdy, and gets the job done. It's not for everyone, particularly those with beefier setups, but, overall, it's a solid piece of equipment.

I wanted a lightweight tripod that is sturdy and well made and this one checks all those boxes. It fits in my pouch on the side of my backpack so I can carry it that way. OR it comes with a real nice bag with a strap. I like the ball head too. Very adjustable. Perfect for hiking and using in the field.

Having for years an older Manfrotto for Video Camera, I wanted to have something smaller and lighter, yet stable. Newer solution from big M is offering a plastic ball-head, which gives-in under tighting causing micro movement of camera and spoils the picture, Rangers offer solution better technically and cheaper.
