I had high hopes for this "military grade" case, and the reviews made me think that I might be getting OtterBox quality without having to pay OtterBox prices. It also includes a screen protector, so I thought I had found a real bargain that I could recommend to my friends. Well... not so much.I had some concerns right away. The screen protector does not extend to the full edge of the phone. Dust and hair accumulates very easily in these unprotected edges. I have a dog who sheds, so it was getting pretty gross. Furthermore, the dotted indentations on the case easily collect any fluids on your hand and it can be very difficult to clean them. I have had to use a toothpick to get yogurt out of them. Long story short, if you have concerns about cleanliness you should immediately forget about buying this case.The durability of the case seemed fine. I dropped it a couple of times, and did not detect any damage. About a month after installation, however, I noticed two cracks extending around the volume buttons. Shortly after that, a chunk of the case above the volume buttons broke off entirely. The cracks below the volume buttons continue to expand, and I decided that I needed to get in touch with customer service about getting a replacement.First of all, customer service for the seller told me that they could not assist me and that I needed to contact the manufacturer. They're the same company. The signatures for the different representatives even have the same division title: Zizo Customer Service. I'm not sure why this impediment to providing service is there, but it was my first indication that this was not going to go well.I contacted the "other" Zizo and made the same request for a replacement. They asked me for pictures of the damage, and I sent them the photos I've attached here. They got back to me shortly thereafter (misspelled my name) and let me know that based on the 30-day warranty (which I am JUST past) I am not entitled to a refund. The "best they could do" was give me a coupon for 70% off a new case, but I would have to pay $5.65 in shipping and handling to get it. I told them I would accept their coupon code, but that I would be warning future customers that these cases break easily and will cost 61% of their original cost to replace so you might as well just get an Otterbox. This did not seem to concern them. Their last email just said "Hello Randall, here is your discount code" and included the code.My name is not Randall.The Otterbox is the same price now. So I'm just going to move on from this experiment and go back to the reliable product. I will be very amused if they respond to this negative review with "Oh no, please contact our customer service!" like they have every other negative review. Since I've already contacted them, that response will confirm what I suspect to be true: Neither of the Zizos have representatives who actually read things.
