These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn other than my Sketchers flip flops. The memory foam bottom feels like you are walking on clouds. I wasn't sure if I would like the stripes but the stripes make the shoes look dressy. The darker black has a little shine to it. The back edge where the top meets the back of your foot felt a little uncomfortable and the shoe slipped à little. I put one of those sticker heel pads in the back and now they are super comfortable and don't slip any. I have a very bad back and the negative heel is great. I would highly recommended these shoes. I got a pair for my mother because she tried them on and loved them but she is a size smaller than me. When she got the shoe they were not comfortable at the top where her toes are. She has very short toes and has problems if the front is short, like Mary Jane's. So, if you have short toes these might not be the shoes for you. But otherwise, these are the perfect shoes to wear to work or for play. Even nice enough for a date night.

I have an incredibly difficult time finding shoes that fit my wide-at-the-forefoot-but-narrow-at-the-heel feet. Throw in moderately severe bunions and lower back pain from inadequately-cushioned shoes. The pool of attractive and trendy shoes that also address all these issues is pretty much nonexistent; I still have hope but it dies a little every time I have to buy shoes.

I've been on the hunt for flats to wear with jeans, slim cropped pants, and *whispers* leggings, and I found them. The pros:

They're wide enough even for my Fred Flintstone feet.

There's more than enough room to put in insoles, which I need.

They're neutral enough to go with nearly every pant I own

The cons:

The flat is made so that your ankles roll inward and I knocked a star off the rating for it. It was quite disconcerting to take a few steps in these shoes and feel absolutely no support in the arch area. I don't think this is a good shoe for those whose ankles are pronated unless you use an orthotic to provide arch support.

It's not especially shock absorbent. I purchased Dr. Scholl's insoles for lower back pain and stuck it under the existing shoe liner when I discovered it's removable.

Maybe it's related to the width but these shoes are matronly. Like Granny-matronly.

It is pewter in color and does not resemble the color of new pennies or copper cookware in any respect.

Like other reviewers have noted, the back of the shoe really chafes. Slap a piece of moleskin or a large Band-Aid onto the back of your heel for the first few days you wear this.

It's not at all breathable and if those little sock liners (Peds or footies or whatever they're called) stay on your feet all day (they don't for me), you will want to wear them with these flats if you tend to have sweaty feet like me. I've had them less than two weeks and they already don't smell... fresh.

Despite the cons vastly outnumbering the pros, I would still purchase these shoes again. Partly because there really aren't that many options for someone with my foot issues, but also because for thirty-eight bucks, I can easily work with the above issues.

If you aren't familiar with Dr. Scholl's shoes I should warn you that they run wide. This is great for me since I've got a wide foot but nobody stocks wide sizes. I was able to wear an 8M (I normally have to go up a half size to get the width right). They are super comfortable and feel like I'm wearing a pair of tennis shoes or house shoes. My friend that works as a waitress tried mine on and now she's ordering a pair to wear to work. I've searched a long time for a comfortable flat and finally found it. I'm tempted to order them in a bunch of different colors.

I will warn you that it's a good idea to use some sort of stain guard on these. I had to return the grey pair I ordered because they were stained when they arrived but I bought the bronze color locally because I wanted to wear them this weekend. I didn't have any problems with the bronze ones (even when they had muddy lake water spilled on them) but I'm planning on putting some sort of coating on them just to be safe.

In 2012 I bought the Dr. Scholls Jayleen flats and I loved them. They fit perfectly, snug to my foot, and very comfortable cushioning insole. When they started to wear out, I decided to buy myself another Dr. Scholls shoe since I enjoyed my first pair. Well, these are not as good as the Jayleen. The insole isn't as cushy, almost reminds me of egg shell cushioning. The heel doesn't grip onto my foot very well and it is always sliding out. And the outsole of the shoe doesn't have much traction, I find myself sliding on concrete or laminate flooring which is a bit scary. And, it rubs a bit at my heel as well, feels like I might be getting a blister after wearing it all day.

I love the look of these shoes though. The printed jersey fabric is really appealing and pretty neutral. And over all they are comfortable except where it is rubbing up against my heel. But I am sure that will correct itself as I continue to wear the shoes. But I would definitely choose the Jayleen over the Joliet

I have been on the hunt for comfortable shoes that are still cute for a very long time. These fit the bill perfectly. There is enough arch support that foot pain is not an issue. The insoles make you feel like you are wearing a nice pair of tennis shoes, and best of all they don't look like something my great-grandma would wear. I've gotten a ton of compliments from friends and co-workers, and none of them could believe that they were Dr. Scholl's. I'm thinking about buying a few more pairs of shoes from them considering how great these are. I've worn these for a week and I couldn't find anything to complain about. There is a bit of rubbing around the back of the heel when you first wear them, but that went away after 3 days; I account that to needing to break them in. Great price, great shoes, and it's great to be comfortable at work all day.
