You'll want an outlet somewhere in between the two locations that you can install the Extender. My router is downstairs. My bedroom is upstairs and down 3 rooms from the stairs. I placed my Extender in the hall after the first room and I have excellent signal in my bedroom from it.

Yes, our extenders do not have the DHCP server capability so that has to be managed by the network router or DHCP server.

not work with non-standard routers or routers with altered firmware such as
those from 3rd party sources or proprietary firmware, such as those from
certain ISPs. We would need to know the model of the modem. Please call our tech support line at 888-573-8820 and a technician can determine if the unit you have works. see less

Answer:
Yes, that is called daisy-chaining. We recommend that you do not do more than two unit though as the network speed will decrease with every unit you add to the chain.

No, our extenders do not have a MAC filtering capability. Only our routers and access points have that capability.
