This is a great phone and a terrific value. The plus version is, in my opinion, well worth the extra $100 over the regular G6 because it has the Quad DAC, which makes music sound fantastic, especially through quality headphones, and the internal 128GB of space is very convenient for videos, games, etc. The Quad DAC should not be understated -- many people, including myself, use their phone to listen to music and videos more often than they take photos (the camera is also very good and comes with a wide-angle lens) and this, along with the V30, is the best audio experience out there for someone who uses headphones.
The ads from Amazon are not too intrusive; if you have any notifications on your lockscreen, the add just shows up as an additional notification. If you don't have notifications, it's a fullscreen ad, but at no time do you actually need to interact with it -- simply use the fingerprint unlock twice and you'll go to your regular homescreen. For a $200/$250 (when on sale) discount, I think it's well worth it to most people. Also, if you want to remove the ads later, go to your devices page on the Amazon website and you can do so for $100.
I am something of an android purist, but I really like the extra features LG added to this phone. The theme engine is good, and some apps (PIA VPN, Twilight, etc.) are able to plug into the quick commands when you pull down the notification tray, making it easy to toggle -- very convenient!
The main knock against this phone is twofold but not applicable to most users: because this is an Amazon phone, the bootloader is locked and there are a few Amazon apps which cannot be uninstalled, only disabled. That means no custom software (ROMS) and no uploading your own updates after LG stops making them, and LG is notorious for being poor at updating their phones.
