So far so good. I just opened the box and it was very well packaged. It comes with battery, charger, USB cable, external flash, pouch for the flash, instructions, CD, camera and camera strap. I'm going to compare it to my older cannon rebel T1i. I'll update you soon!

Just got my Pen-F from Amazon two days ago. I currently have an e-M5 Mk II and previously had an e-M10, epl5 and epl3. I really like the M4/3 format and am partial to the Olympus line. If you are familiar and comfortable with the Olympus menu system, you will be right at home with the Pen-F. The reasons I wanted this model were:

    5 axis stabilization
    20 megapixel sensor
Built in viewfinder on a Pen style body
    Design!

I love the design. It is a pleasure to hold and look at. As corny as it sounds, for an older fellow that was shooting pics since the early 70's, it evokes a pleasant memory of functional and stylish rangefinders that were so pleasant to use. Very solid materials and build quality. It is basically a beefed up eM5 Mk ii in a beautifully executed rangefinder design with a really great hi res OLED viewfinder.

If you want a technical review, there are a lot of well written detailed reviews out there. Technically I knew what I was getting since I have been an Olympus Micro 4/3 user for quite a while. I was not sure if hands on experience would match the hype, and for me it has.

Since design and aesthetics are so personal, not everyone will be wowed by the cost of ownership. Count me among those that sees this camera as a sight for sore eyes.

This is really an E-M5 Mk II in a different costume. Slightly higher resolution, but identical in size and shape. The controls have been shuffled, with the E-M5 coming out slightly ahead, though the dedicated exposure override dial is nice. But there's no reason to pick the PEN except that you like its looks.

I do like its looks, though the styling owes more to the Leica/Contax/Canon axis than to the original Olympus Pens. But the size is a little disappointing. It looks like it should be much smaller, not the same size as the E-M5.

I can't make a practical argument for owning this camera, but with a nice little lens like the 17mm f/2.8, it is fun to use and looks great.

Double check the camera model in the box. I recieved the Olympus E-P5 in the Pen F box. When I realized it, I was outside of my return window. Ended up paying $1000 for a $500 camera.

Ergonomically, this camera is a disaster. No grip, and the plethora of buttons, dials, and doodads, reminds you of a NASA mission control board. The lack of a grip means that you're ever and always hitting some button at random. The pictures seem fine, but not that much better than my old Lumix GX7, a much better designed camera.

I love the idea of this camera, and I'll grab it more than I should over more capable models. My Canon 6D and 'L' lenses should be for detail, resolution and DOF purposes, but it sits when I grab the Pen-F most of the time. I get great portraits with the 45 f/1.8 or 75mm f/1.8 m43 lenses, and the 15 f/1.7 is just made for this camera and spontaneous shooting, but the FEEL of the Olympus Pen-F is addictive and seductive and draws me back again and again. I even take it on vacation because it's small and portable and can use the 9-18mm and 45-150mm zoom lenses to great effect. Oh, I also have a Panasonic GX8 which is nice too, but doesn't have the character or chops of the Pen-F

Sure you can find niggling things to complain about, but at this level of technology, there are no major faults. I'm reading all the criticisms of tripod mount, or weather sealing, etc, but they miss the point - this camera is the best emulation of a photographer's right hand. It becomes an extension of you and mere separation creates anxiety so you want to use it more. It makes you want to take pictures. The shutter sound is sublime, and the tactile response of the dials and knobs is perfect. Use it with confidence and enjoy the experience for the pure joy of it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Couldn't find warranty
Reviewed in Canada on April 29, 2021
The used camera itself was in near perfect mint condition and, although not in the original packaging and box, it was wrapped, sealed and packed very securely . The seller stated that there was a warranty but I haven't found one; the camera seems to be working perfectly well and hopefully I won't ever need the warranty. The seller claimed there was free shipping included in the price but when the delivery truck arrived on the scheduled day, the driver got back in his truck and sped off without leaving a card or any information. When I called DHL to ask what happened they said duty charges were owing and I immediately paid them and my package was delivered the next day. Usually DHL is fantastic for service and they can't be topped for rapid international delivery especially from Japan, though usually I am notified in advance of any fees owing as well as delivery times but obviously there was a glitch with this delivery, possibly the notifications went to Amazon itself rather than my personal email. However as far as the camera goes it is absolutely amazing and despite the little delivery glitches and missing warranty, the camera arrived safe and secure in less than a week from Japan and that is faster than any other international shipping; I can't complain, well except for the "surprise" extra duty fees......despite many online complaints about these "surprise" duty fees with DHL, in my experience ordering from Japan with DHL the fees are handled smoothly and flawlessly in advance with Amazon or the Marketplace seller but again the camera got here in under a week in perfect condition.

This is an amazing camera and takes ecxellent pictures but I don't like the way it feels in my hand, it is a bit rough and too heavy without a grip of any kind. I also find the menus to be maddeningly confusing. My husband uses this camera now and loves it. I replaced it for myself with the Olympus EMll Mk5, which I find easier to use and produces the same quality results.
