Wow! Jill Shalvis really did an amazing job writing About That Kiss. Jill Shalvis really has a unique writing style that is amazing. She always has you hooked from the first page. Her books really are amazing books. In every book the way she writes her characters are very realistic with very realistic problems and lives. Her writing makes you feel as if you are actually there a part of the story. I having been waiting for Joe's story since Sweet Little Lies which was Finn and Pru's story. I really enjoyed watching Joe and Kylie come together in this story.

Kylie has been through a lot in her life and she definitely is a survivor. She's a woodworker and often has dust all over her and her work outfit is often not what you would call Sexy. However to Joe her outfit and all the dust and grime does not hinder his attraction to her.
Joe is definitely a very sexy alpha male. Joe has had a hard life also. Joe's hard life makes him the man he is now. Joe works for Archer's security team.
I love the chemistry between Joe and Kylie. I loved watching the dynamics of their relationship grow and change. I really enjoyed their stakeouts and Kylie's crazy wigs. I really enjoyed the fact that they just couldn't keep their hands off each other. I really enjoyed the part when Joe refers to the man's "guidebook" on women. I just busted out laughing.

About That Kiss made me laugh and had a lot of heart swooning moments. About That Kiss was a great contemporary romance but also had a splash of mystery. This book was well worth the wait. I loved Joe and Kylie's story. Joe and Kylie are like two pieces of a puzzle that finally come together and fit perfectly. I enjoyed the friendship of the community and the feel that they were more family than friends. I loved how in moments of pure need the would all rally together to support each other. That is what family is all about. I felt as if I were there watching everything unfold. About That Kiss is a very sweet, at times humorous and sexy book. Jill Shalvis really knows how to draw her readers in. She always leaves you wanting more and feeling as you are a part of that world. She really has a gift with words and that makes her a very amazing author and her books great reads. I definitely suggest you grab a copy and read it. In fact I suggest you read the entire Heartbreaker Bay series and see for yourself why readers fall in love with the book and series.

This was an interesting story. The lead up to the ending was a bit of a struggle but the ending was pretty good.

This series is amazing! I've been hooked since Pru and Finn's story and love it!
Kylie is really sweet, she's been through a lot in her life and she's a survivor. She's a woodworker, an art that her grandfather taught her, she has awesome friends, her dog is loving, loyal and hilarious and lately she's been trying to avoid Joe... you know after that kiss.
Joe is a hot, sexy, alpha who isn't afraid of anything. Well, at least he thought so but that chemistry between him and Kylie is freaking him out and he just can't get her out of his mind. It doesn't matter if she has dust all over her or even if she's wearing work boots, he's just drawn to her specially after that kiss.
Kylie and Joe have an insane chemistry! The push and pull, the way their relationship was slowly changing, how they couldn't resist and keep their hands of each other, their stubbornness, the hilarious stake outs, Joe opening up to Kylie and those kisses made their story unique, fresh and perfectly balanced between heat, heart, friendship, family (I loved Joe's dad), suspense and action. Joe is now my second favorite in this series (yes, Archer is still #1!).
Overall, a very sweet, funny, sexy and entertaining contemporary romance with amazing characters that will make you want to move to Heartbreaker Bay (I think I've said that in every review I've written about this series, honestly it's just that I get that Friends - yes the TV show - vibe every single time and I love it so, so much!), can't wait for Lucas and Molly's story - oh yeah, those looks between them and the sizzling chemistry are very promising. About that Kiss is a must read and I definitely recommend the entire series.

4 1/2 STARS!

Delectably sweet and oh so good! With the our latest trip to Heartbreaker Bay, we get to reconnect with all of the old gang and watch another couple fall into the throes of a passion that leads them to that happily ever after they both swear they don't want. Joe Malone is sexy and tough and super protective of those he loves ... but Kylie is independent as all get out and that protectiveness of his just might drive her crazy! When someone sets out to hurt Kylie, Joe steps in to help her get to the bottom of who is playing games and why. The story is easy to get hooked on and the characters are very enjoyable. Lots of drama to keep us on our toes, and a sweet love story to boot!

Tough guy Joe Malone takes being a protector seriously, so when he finds out that Kylie needs help with a threat, he's there! So she's mad at him that he didn't call her after the super hot kiss they shared the other day ... what's a guy to do? He's not the type to settle down and fall in love, and Kylie isn't the type to deserve less than his all. She'll have to forgive him ... especially if he's helping her ... right?

Spitfire Kylie Masters is going to make that man pay for ignoring her if it's the last thing she does! Like she can't have a good time and walk away as good as the rest? HA! Let's see how good he is at resisting her when she's by his side every day as they set out on a mission to find her cherished piece of the past!

I've always enjoyed serialized stories and Heartbreaker Bay has some of the BEST! Jill Shalvis has created a community filled with real people, real situations and just a touch of whimsy. Her characters stay true to themselves across each story arc and those story arcs are totally believable. I love the humour she injects into the dialogue between her characters; they say things I might say, in the same words and with the same tone of voice. About That Kiss builds on the each of the previous installments while being fully capable of standing alone. But I doubt very much that anyone reading this story as their first introduction to Jill's writing will be able to resist reading all the others!

Without giving the whole story away, the developing relationship between Kylie and Joe IS the story. Two people with real baggage are able to find each other in spite of the obstacles and misunderstandings in their way. The mystery they're solving together is just the backdrop. And Vinnie!! Who doesn't love a great dog?!

There's just enough foreshadowing of future stories that I'm anxiously anticipating the next episode. I hope it's soon!

About That Kiss by Jill Shalvis
Series: Heartbreaker Bay #5

5 Stars - I truly love this series! The characters are all wonderful and with every book I read, I just end up looking forward to which character’s story could come next! I was happy to see that Joe got his own book. He was a great lead and while I think Kylie was a bit careless with having to tag along on the job all the time, I thought she was a good match for him. They had great chemistry and made me laugh more than once. I loved the banter between all the characters, loved the hashtags at the beginning of each chapter, and overall the book was well written and thoroughly enjoyable. Can’t wait for the next one!
